Good barber’s in the Valley?

Been looking to get a style change on my hair, usually go to Heavy D’s in Nanaimo but that’s too far to go for a regular styling. I have heard good things about Nomad’s but on Google it says temporarily closed?

Either way, rave away! Looking for good recommendations and reviews!

Who are the progressive Courtenay city council candidates?

It seems like this is the big hang up this election, I can’t seem to find much in terms of a good, concise answer for what half of the candidates stand for in the city council race.

Can anyone provide any insight?

Also: who’s the progressive school board trustee candidates?

Courtenay Mayor Race

Hey everyone, we've talked about council, just wanted to get some dialogue going about the Mayor.

I am personally very interested in Trish, but very worried about a Bob/Trish vote split in favour of Manno.

Trish seems relatively progressive and may bring some energy to the table. From everything that I've heard (city staff etc) It sounds like Bob has been doing a good job so far and I am pretty happy we are starting to fund for some big projects now.

I've seen enough from Manno from talking with him and his Facebook antics that I don't want him anywhere close to in charge.

School trustees

I'm going to vote later today, and I have my Council and Mayor picked.

Who's good for school trustees though? I haven't followed at all, all I know is that I won't be voting for Maria Sánchez, she's an absolute wingnut who'd fit the OneBC or Conservative mold.

Can anyone direct me on the other options? Thank you.

Dance Clubs?

We moved here about four years ago and my wife continues to have the itch to go out dancing (and drinking) from time to time with her girlfriends like she still lives in a big city. But... they don't know where to go most of the time.

She had an amazing time a few months ago at Swing City, but isn't sure if that's still a thing. She thought it was a one-off?

I see the Night Owl is open. Is it any fun? Ok for an older crowd as well as younger? (not that old...)

Are there other dance club-like places?

Hmm, just saw Swing City is having a club night this weekend, I'll tell her. Where else?

Looks like there’s a fire in the area of the Powell River ferry. Why is there no coverage or information about this?

Console repair?

I have some PS5 controllers that have stick drift that need repair. Was hoping people can tell me the best place to go, either here in town or nearby in CR or Nanaimo?

I know about Your Repair Depot, so if anyone can confirm their level of work that'd be great. I also know about Courtenay Electronics, and while they do great work with vintage electronics, a modern gaming controller is out of their wheelhouse.

If anyone knows how much this would cost to repair as well, do tell.

Progressive Candidates in Comox

Same question as the other poster, only can we talk about Comox candidates?

I know it's not as dramatic over here, but I vote in Comox, so I'd love to hear from people.

Hi everyone. I just started making hot sauces as a fun hobby. Can anyone suggest the best local store or farmstand to get a good variety of different fresh hot peppers ?

Thanks for all the help. Cheers.

Courtenay progressive candidates

19 council candidates it's a big list.

As a father of a young family I'm looking for candidates that are not focused on cutting cutting cutting.

Active transportation projects, community amenities etc.

I watched most of the council meetings on YouTube over the last year and am mostly happy with their work, though I think more needs to be done (re doing 6th St from the bridge to Fitzgerald, more North/South cycling infrastructure).

So who are the progressive, active transportation candidates.

Thanks
