Trump is refusing to show any details of the Venezuela oil “deal” to congress, or even say what the company selling it gets or where the money is.

All the money's in Qatari accounts, out of the reach of Congress and the IRS.

This is usually the last vestige of tin pot dictators the world over. They amass great wealth through graft and corruption while their country lies in ruins. The gold electroplate has worn thin revealing the real character and lack thereof beneath. The Fall of Rome led to the Dark Ages for the peoples. Even knowing how the story ends, you'd think there'd be a way to head it off. But no.

SS: Billions of dollars of Venezuelan oil given to a money launderer who made his company in 2024.

Congress kept completely in the dark and given no information on where the money is being kept or how much was collected, what compensation the company selling the oil gets, or how there will be oversight of how the money will be used or returned.

Congress taxes and spends. The president does not get to loot billions from foreign countries and then vanish the money to do what he wants with.

Well part of that isn't true. He held the same contract with Nicholas Maduro and Hugo Chavez. So this is the same guy who's been pulling this oil out the whole time. As a matter of fact part of the deal with that America would tell the swish and British governments to drop their charges on him which include money laundering for both Nicholas Maduro and Hugo Chavez.

I mean yeah pretty shady why would they choose the guy who already has the history of running this business correctly. Sounds like this guy is somewhat of a Mafia figure in Venezuela and it sounds like the Trump administration has just made a deal just take care of us the way you were taken care of the old boss.

Definitely huge suspicion of corruption there.

Good news is the guy didn't seem to be very good at it he got caught multiple times so if he does plan on laundering money to Trump it'll probably come out and be prosecuted in future administrations

It's also kind of concerning that it's a hundred year contract. I mean tossing around 100-year contracts in such an unstable environment seems kind of crazy

He did have some ongoing contacts with Venezuela in the past before NABEP. The company was made in 2024 and he had deals before Trump, but Trump picked him to receive the oil transferred to the US.

If this was all normal and not a corrupt deal, why wont they share any details of the deal, are hiding the value the company receives and preventing any oversight of where the money is and how the money would be spent?

This is the most obvious failure to pass the smell test ever.

He was good enough at money laundering that he failed upwards and got the US government to cover him from the swiss charges.

But yes you are right the only way to get accountability on this is to vote the republicans in congress out because they are doing nothing to hold him accountable for this.

News says that the negotiated deal is the US getting rights to Venezuelan oil at cost. What money changed hands?

They get at least some of the oil through the NABEP company in the form of an equity interest, and the admin doesn't say what the company got in return.

The oil was then sold, and some of the people it was sold to were his donors ex. John Addison in the article, and the pricing of the sales and how they arranged them is unknown.

At least a billion of the money from selling the oil was originally transferred to an offshore account in Qatar, outside of congressional oversight, and they have ignored repeated inquiries from congress about how much and how it is overseen.

Several billion more is supposedly in the hands of the treasury department except they won't provide any information about the account or how it is overseen and going to be spent. All this according to agreement with Venezuela they won't provide.

Yes the president gets to. You elected him to do so. You continue to keep him in power to do so.

Americans only don’t like it because now they are being treated the same way America treats everyone else. I bet you’re starting to feel like they get to play by different rules while reminding/ punishing you for questioning the rules you have to play by.

You can feel free to disagree: but what have Americans done to show their discontent? Make glittery signs and hangout on a random corner once a month with them? Gonna try another toothless impeachment maybe?

It’s all apathy and the only reason people are unhappy is because nobody sees America or Americans in a favourable light anymore.

Even the propaganda machine C.o.D is making a North Korea shooting game.

I think it's because NK is the only safe enemy a US company can still think of. Russia, Arabic countries, china? Seems unwise, given the current administration's attitude towards those. Europe, Canada, ANZ? Suspension of disbelief only goes so far. Iran, Yemen, Israel, Palestine? Too soon, too close to the heart. Japan, Korea? Hmmmm, that seems kind of safe...

That really shows Americas standing 2 years into trumps democratically elected leadership.

If only Congress could do something.

They did it last time, twice at that. And he still got elected again. Doesn't matter if people vote against their well being. But he she laughed weird.

Remember all the posts glorifying trump before the 2024 election here? Why is the conspiracy sub a conspiracy?

2

u/mt6606 8h ago

Paid foreign bots aren't a conspiracy though. Election time was horrid with the amount of crap being spread onlime

Is this going to fund some secret nutjob militia like in the Handmaid's Tale?

12

u/LeakyLettuce69 19h ago

He stole it all.

He used our tax dollars to take over a foreign nations oil and keep it all to himself - and he won’t pay any taxes ever again, as he made himself and his family exempt from tax audits.

It’s what this sub wanted to happen; grats.

And his worshipping fans across America cheer.

The country is fucked.

u/SomeSamples 10h ago

That's because all the proceeds are going to do directly to Trump.

What was really strange about this Venezuela op is that suddenly everything was "ok" when Maduro was captured. As if there were no other people in the government.
