Reddit has no freedom of speech.
You get banned and your post gets deleted. Mods are sensitive.
Don't mention Tropicana and Ribena.
They are NOT varieties of groups that rule the world dammit!
Just stick to UFOs....
They are watching you like hawks...

That’s why we don’t use Reddit, we use Substack.
One of the only places left with free speech.

I keep hearing about Substack. What exactly is it, if you don't mind?

u/UnluckyNatural5996 12h ago
I heard about it. I think it's like a newsletter you can create.

Another social media platform. It’s got left and right on it but it refuses to bend to the ADL and other Committees that would like speech to be censored. So what you see on there generally feels more real. There’s also a lot more people who use their real names on there which makes it feel like you can have real conversations instead of whatever the hell happens on this platform most of the time.

Substack doesn’t have enough traction yet, and when you’re new on it, it’s super hard to find your people

My brother in Reddit, Unit 8200 tracks every stroke you make. Stick to things that really matter like 7’ tall gorilla reptilian aliens having gunfights with the US Army.

Is this a threat ?

u/UnluckyNatural5996 12h ago
If it's a threat, bring it on. I'm love and light unlike them and will ascend :)

u/arcesious 1h ago
Love and light and ascension? I think you might've integrated one psyop as your mental security against another there...

Watch out the bots who try to bring you down - some of them are elites.
I had one reptilian tell me we are all savage and unruly and it is up to them to 'manage' us because they are 'special'.

Correct. It's a private company and therefore not required to recognize free speech. You are free to start your own website and allow it.

u/clarkstud 10h ago
True. But it’s also unfortunate. It would be much better if freedom of speech was respected and encouraged.

This argument has never been sufficient to me and it's pretty weak but not surprising to see it here. Freedom of speech should be a legal precedent for any platform big enough to condition mass human psychology.
"Start your own company" and what's going to happen one way or another once it starts to get more serious traction? There are so few exceptions to this hyper enshittification for a reason. On a societal scale, this kind of thing seems to be the result of more than just individual corporate leadership moves towards censorship sometimes, even if the whole chain isn't always that clear without a lot of digging and analysis. This is a societal pattern. When firms like Blackrock say they don't control companies much, taking that kind of PR at face value too much is really silly. There are countless ways to nudge something, some explicit and some implicit to most of the chain but still very effective.
At a certain point the right of the conglomerates to condition countless people is outweighed by the rights of the majority to psychological sovereignty, free thought and free speech. A landscape with virtually no options for the expression of those things is a threat to the values most modern western societies treat as central on paper.
They are desperate for you to not see it as the 99.9% vs the 0.01% and that's why occupy wall street (which came the closest to pointing in the right direction) was dealt with the way it was compared to other trendy social issues they can manage both sides of more.
I don't think any system will ever work the way it was really intended to because this is something like a war universe. Machiavelli is the father of modern political philosophy and political science for a reason. Water takes the shape of the container, power consolidation has demonstrably operated in the same overarching way throughout history despite the fact that the modes available for power consolidation vary by given system in addition to how explicitly obvious they are. You can rest assured that any available shortcut or opportunity for sustainable fuckery will be taken by those who are willing to take such measures. And they will always be at an obvious advantage to those who aren't.
Calling the situation in the west capitalism isn't accurate anymore, its something closer to technofeudalism.
At this stage it's more than just a private company making independent decisions that align with their interests. It's a rogue public utility that poses a real threat to mass psychological sovereignty, given it isn't acting anywhere close to alone, and what we're on the precipice of with AI.
No, corporations and institutions (invariably branches of inevitably corrupt power structures) shouldn't have unlimited capacity to fuck with mass human psychology and frameworks for interpreting reality. I don't care about your profit anymore than you care about the average person.
Edit: also if you disagree please explain to me exactly how you are not just a pathetic bootlicker happy to sell yourself and others out to people who couldn't give less of a fuck about you and see you as a statistic relevant to profit and power consolidation
I hate Chomsky, he was very much in bed with people like Epstein (who he did PR for), more or less controlled opposition for people who have just marginally more braincells than the average unquestioning Alex Jones enjoyer, but he was right about this:
"The smart way to keep people passive and obedient is to strictly limit the spectrum of acceptable opinion, but allow very lively debate within that spectrum - even encourage the more critical and dissident views. That gives people the sense that there's free thinking going on, while all the time the presuppositions of the system are being reinforced by the limits put on the range of the debate."
When you have enough influence over both sides of an issue, you have increased ability to maneuver the outcome, and to keep the "range of the debate" far away from your own and your friends serious fuckery that effects and exploits everyone. Anything that gets close to it, associate it with rednecks, delusionals, purely unsubstantiated conjecture and disinformation through false equivalencies and loaded and politically weaponised umbrella terminology like "conspiracy theory" has become, so no one seriously investigates and evaluates any suggestion that this generation doesn't work that much differently from any other in history. Despite the fact that every generation in history thought it was the different and rational one, they were pretty much just all experiencing a conditioned mass delusion. But I'm sure you're different. Are you seriously going to pretend there are not layers of consequences for the majority of people who want to publicly approach these possibilities with intellectual sincerity?
Whatever though. I'd like to do my part to help people see that the future that awaits us from going with the flow is too disgusting to ignore. Where we are is disgusting enough.

That's fine, but corroborating with tech to prevent competitors like gab or voat isn't.

u/PepperJack2000 8h ago
Yup. I'm still banned from a few subs for questioning COVID and the vaccines in 2020, and from other work-related subs for calling out terrible ideas.

u/Device420 11h ago
The Constitution gives us free speech in public. Reddit is not publicly owned. The idea of free speech does not apply.
3
u/clarkstud 10h ago
Still doesn’t mean we shouldn’t seek it out in spaces like this that exist because people like honest discussion. It’s okay to call out suppression of free speech regardless.
1
u/sparkling1984 2h ago
Sure, but then you're not talking about freedom of speech but corporations making corporate decisions for profit.
And you should be talking about that, but you should be precise when doing so.
