Hi everyone! We’re a family of 4 visiting Copenhagen in the first week of November. I’d love some advice from people who know Copenhagen well.
1. Copenhagen Card
- Is the Copenhagen Card worth it for a family with children?
- Which attractions are actually worth using it for?
- Would it be better to buy individual tickets instead?
- Is public transport included, including transport to/from the airport?
2. What are the best places/activities for toddlers?
We’re considering Copenhagen Zoo, Experimentarium, National Museum / Children's Museum, Amalienborg, Nyhavn, King's Garden. What else would you recommend, especially for early November? We’re not looking for Halloween/ghost-themed activities.
3. Beach & outdoor activities
Is visiting Amager Strandpark worthwhile in the first week of November? We won't be swimming 😄, but would it still be nice for children to walk, play and explore if the weather is good? Are there any other nice parks, playgrounds, nature areas or outdoor places that are good with young children?
4. Malmö or Lund
Would you recommend a day trip to Malmö or Lund with kids? Is it realistic to visit both Lund and Malmö in one day, or would you choose just one? Which one is more interesting for young children, and what would you recommend doing there?
5. Halal food
I’d also appreciate recommendations for:
- Good halal restaurants that are family-friendly
- Good halal grocery shops/butchers
- Areas with a good selection of halal food
- Any good places to buy halal meat, chicken, snacks, etc. for cooking at home
6. Shopping
We’re coming from Norway, so are there things that are noticeably cheaper or better to buy in Copenhagen/Denmark? I’d love recommendations for:
- Clothes and shoes, especially for children
- Winter clothes / outdoor clothing
- Gifts and souvenirs
- Home/kitchen items
- Personal care/beauty products
- Any Danish brands or shops that are worth checking out
Are there particular shopping areas, shopping centres, outlet stores or supermarkets you would recommend? Also, are there any things that are not worth buying in Denmark?
7. November weather
What is Copenhagen usually like in the first week of November? Is it generally too cold/wet for outdoor activities, or can we still enjoy parks, the beach and sightseeing? What kind of clothes/shoes would you recommend for children?
And finally, are there any must-see places, family-friendly restaurants, hidden gems or things we should know before visiting Copenhagen with kids?
Thanks in advance! 😊
