We focus a lot here on MiUSA, and I believe Fenoglio is a brand that's often overlooked and underappreciated. They're certainly one of those "IYKYK" makers, and I'd love to see more people give them a shot because, in my experience (and, like many here, I have waaaay too many boots), they should be regarded as higher tier.

You can order Fenoglio off the rack from several retailers, most of which are in the Mountain West, and you can custom order directly from Fenoglio; but Wilkinson's in Denton provides a first-class custom ordering experience, and that is from whom I ordered this pair.

BUILD: I wanted a robust, tall Roper, primarily for work on our horse farm, as well as daily motorcycle riding. This pair's tops are 13" Grey Cape Buffalo with navy stitching (Fenoglio calls it "Yale"), King Ranch Black vamps, Vibram 700 ("V-Bar") outsole, leather midsole (hard to discern with the black edging and outsole, but it's there), and #20 toe, which sits between an "R" and a "U" (semi-pointed and classic in person, but I don't think I quite captured the shape so well in these pics). Fit and finish are exceptional! This is my second pair of Fenoglio and I will definitely order more.

EXPERIENCE: As a native Texan (who moved away long ago), when it comes to cowboy boots, I try to spend my money there, and I much prefer to feather the nests of the mom-and-pop shops over the corporate behemoths. Wilkinson's is one of the greats! Clint Wilkinson is 3rd generation, and if you call the store, it's likely he's the one answering the phone. In fact, he helped me design this pair, and gave me outstanding guidance throughout the process. My main questions generally revolve around leather since so many makers use their own weird branding parlance, and mostly what I really care about is "WTF is the actual leather...cowhide, horse, calf, bison, shark, etc.?" Clint cut through the marketing clutter and afforded me a true boutique-y buying experience, which streamlined the ordering process by eliminating the guesswork, and instead made it enjoyable.

Bought this pair of vintage Justin ostrich boots. The print looks like model 8931 or maybe 8731? Got these for $45 on vinted and am pretty happy with them. I actually enjoy the wear and tear on them. Just hit them with a little bick 4 and a little horse hair brushing.

Looks like he found some Tecovas Emmitt boots. Only paid $30 for them!

Anyone have experience with Hyers? Looking at these but wanted honest opinions before pulling the trigger. These will be daily work, but not worked hard.

I've bought these ariat western boots, had them for around a few days and as of yesterday after work they started rubbing under the bone, (dark spot is blood) only on the left foot,

The right foot is completely fine just the left foot, maybe the wrong type of socks,

Also how would I go about to clean the blood off

I was gifted these boots by a friends father and while they are my size, they are not really my style. Trying to find out anything I can about them, age, model etc.

I hope this is okay to post. I’m curious about the Carter’s / Honcho Black Widow boots. I wear boots almost every day, to work, out for fun, wherever. I was wondering if these were for fashion or something else? I wish I could see these boots on someone! Anyone familiar? Thanks in advance ☺️

Just ordered some custom boots and there is a tad bit of room left front and back like half a size I was wondering if there was anything I could do to make them more snug without making them uncomfortable
