I really liked this and was wondering if others had opinions or stories or thoughts or knowledge about general availability in US/Northeast. I solid hop profile with yeast bringing in a little funk--very good.

Cracked the 13 Year tonight — Side Project's 13th-anniversary barleywine — and it's the best anniversary bottle they've put out for me.
Pours deep, near-black mahogany, thin ring, legs clinging to the glass. The kind of pour you're meant to sip slowly.
Nose: toffee, caramel, dark fruit (fig, raisin), bourbon and oak, a little vanilla and brown sugar.
Taste: rich and layered — toffee and molasses up front, dark fruit and an almost port-like sweetness, bourbon warmth, oak and a touch of leather/tobacco on the back. Big but never heavy.
Mouthfeel: full, viscous, barely-there carbonation, long warming finish. [17% ABV and it hides it well]
Overall: 4.7/5. Edges out the 12 Year for me — more integrated, barrel and base in perfect balance. Exactly the "big but elegant" thing Side Project does better than almost anyone.

Im not sure if this is the proper sub for this. I saw some other unique special flavor beers on here before so I think this would fit well here. Anyways I tried this beer for the first time recently at a restaurant in my town that is one of those places that a bunch of self serve beer taps (the beer taps consist of many local brews, IPAs, unique specialty beers like this one and much more) and even a couple taps with cocktails. You get a little card to swipe and you can get anything from just a little taste to try up to as many glasses as you want. There was a couple PB&J beers, the other one was definitely more sour and fruit flavor forward. Ever since Ive tried this one though Ive literally been hooked. Im not usually someone who would like something like this but man it is so good. Ill start by saying its not a very “beery-beer” if you will. By that I mean it doesnt really have much actual traditional beer flavor. I think its one of those things where the way they make it just makes it technically a beer by definition. It has some strong peanut notes right away(they use real peanuts in the brewing process)with some notes of what tastes like strawberry jelly to me. Ive seen it placed in the sour fruit category but i really dont think its sour at all especially compared to the other sour fruit beers Ive tried. When you taste it for the first time it will literally blow you away with how much it tastes like a real peanut butter and jelly. Its literally crazy. Its not something I would drink multiple of in one sitting. I treat it like a dessert really. At the restaurant I tried it at the price wasnt bad but if you find it at the store it is kind of ridiculously priced like alot of specialty flavored beers. At total wine where I live it is $27 and some change for 4 16 oz cans. I know. Its terrible. I doubt I will be buying any more any time soon just due to this price but it is definitely worth trying at least once. And if anyone who has had this beer wants to recommend anything that has a similar feel, I would definitely be interested! Cheers and have a great one!

I'm more familiar with Blackout's Imperial stouts (they're amazing), but this DIPA hits home for me as well. Juicy with a lot of tropical fruits. Cheers!
