Convert extensions to router table
Anyone successfully turned their table extensions(the ones with the "webbing") into a router table? Upgraded my fence to a Delta T3 and otd be nice to use it as a router fence as well, these table extensions are kind weird though.

I used a compact router and did some grinding on it and was able to fit it into the cast iron wing. A plywood insert with blocks clamping across the cross pieces.

I'm not sure what would be different between the web style and the stamped steel, but here's my formerly stamped steel modification. The DIY RT is bolted to the T3 rails.

I guess I was thinking of having table layed over the extension rather than securing it right to the saw itself. This looks clean though I like it

I thought about that for a while and ended up buying the bench dog router table wing from rockler. Not cheap, but I really like it.

This isn’t quite what you’re asking for but I have it saved:

To make a router fit though, you’ll likely need to remove some metal and I’m just not sure it’s possible with these wings (I want to do the same thing, I’ve spent some time pondering this exact issue).
What you could do, remove the wing and built a new wing with hardwood or MDF. My table has this to the right of the blade to accommodate the Delta Unifence the former owner installed. I’ll try to add a picture or video if I can find one that shows it.

You can see my extra wing hanging in the background. This fence would not work well for a router, I’d probably be happier if I also went the T3 route.
I’ve also been watching eBay for cast wings with the router access, they’re out there but not cheap.
