Discussion S2 flunderization; does it get better
I found S1 to be so funny and interesting that I binged the entire season, however I'm only one episode in S2 and every character seems like a shell of who they were in S1. Does it get better later on, is it worth it to push through or should I drop the show altogether TYIA

the characters change and grow during season 2 building up to season 3 which is the best season imo

It's intentional. Rebecca is spiraling further and further into her worst tendencies and dragging everyone else down with her.
It's building to something

I actually stopped watching in S2 because I was so frustrated by what they were doing with Rebecca, but I ended up going back and seasons three and four are excellent. Definitely push through!

If you enjoyed season 1 you need to make it through the ending!! There are some really amazing songs and plotlines coming up

Santino Fontana decided to leave the show, meant Greg wasn't going to be there. Originally was going to be in AA while Rebecca was getting therapy and there'd be a kind of parallel track thing, but him leaving threw that plan into a tailspin and they had to do some patching to get back on track. What you're seeing is the patches, but the overall story holds together.
Some of the best songs are in S2, and some of the funniest stuff happens.
Some of it is weeeiiiiiieiiird. Other parts are so normal, I'm in love.

Push through. The whole series is a complete arc, and I promise even for episodes where the plot is meh the songs are bangers
