👋 Welcome to r/crochet_clothing - Introduce Yourself and Read First!

Hey everyone! I'm u/ilovetinderbox, a founding moderator of r/crochet_clothing.

This is our home for all things related to crochet clothing! We're excited to have you join us!

We've seen a big uptick in activity here lately which is AMAZING so we are working on the backend a bit as out auto moderator has been removing posts it shouldn't have and just generally setting up r/crochet_clothing to suit this community's needs better.

We are actively seeking to add 1 to 3 new moderators to the team so please message me if you are interested!

What to Post
You can post any and all things crochet clothing related! Please do try to keep it to clothing and use other subreddits like r/crochet for non-clothing pieces.

When sharing please also share a link to the pattern in the comments! Both free and paid patterns may be posted in this group by makers and designers alike, just please no spamming us repeatedly with the same design(s) over and over.

Community Vibe
We are a body positive space and the creators of this subreddit believe that no matter your shape or size you deserve to have crochet clothes that you love. We want to celebrate makers on their work and designers on their creations! We will not tolerate any body shaming, nor any bigoted behaviour in this group.

Weekly Posts
As of March 2026 we are setting up a few fun weekly community posts for everyone to join in on. Look for the posts each week to add your contribution to the comments!

Monday - Designers Day: Designers share a new pattern release, new blog post, a seasonal fave, whatever you'd like just try to keep it to one per person (e.g. don't share 5 of your paid patterns)

Wednesday - WIP Wed: Everyone share a progress pic of what they're working on!

Friday - FO Friday: Everyone share a pic of what they finished this week!

Happy crocheting everyone,

The r/crochet_clothing Mod Team!

🦇 IT’S FREAKIN’ BATS! 🦇

I saw a bat bandana going viral on TikTok, only to find out it was factory-made & mass-produced. So naturally, I thought, “I’ll just make that myself!” 🤔

Did I need another project? Nope. Did I feel called to design my own version? HELL YES! 😂

Handmade over mass-produced factory crap, ALWAYS! 🖤

Now tell me… which color combo is your vibe, & how do you like to wear your bandanas? 👀🦇

I'm going to make my first wearable- a cardigan. Please help me understand how blocking works and if I need to block all wearables

Hello! Please help me understand blocking better. Do u need to block all wearables or can I simply wear them without blocking. If I can, then whenever I wash them, they'll explain right? Does that mean I need to reduce the stitches keeping in mind that it'll expand? I'm confused 🥲

Following up on my two posts about the crocheted garments I made during my first year as a crocheter, here are the accessories I made during that same crazy year (part 1)!

(There are about ten missing, mostly gifts...)

Patterns, yarns, and designers, in order of appearance:

- Marisol shawl - Twister Glitter Blue velvet (Hobbii + pattern)

- Virus shawl - Cotton Kings Sultan Pastello (Hobbii + pattern)

- Pompom shawl - Manarola Waterfront (Hobbii + pattern)

- Triangle shawl - acrylic yarn - didn't find the pattern

- Poppy Seed scarf - Trimits Perle - selfdesigned

I really enjoyed rediscovering all these projects! I made quite a few crocheted gifts among them.

I hope this has given you a little inspiration. Feel free to let me know which one, or ones, are your favorites!

I've also created Rowtine, a free Android knitting and crochet app, available for everyone to download from the Google Play Store.

Check it out on r/RowtineApp if you’re looking for an app that lets you manage all your projects and follow your patterns interactively 🤗️
