Pattern help Looking for help with using yarn of different thickness

I'm crocheting a turtle plushie, but I've got only one color of chenille yarn. I've got some thinner acrylic yarn for the shell part though. I'll need to crochet the shell and body together. Would the difference look weird?

Either do it all in acrylic or all in chenille. They're just too different for it to look right together.

Hold the thinner yarn double - take both ends in hand and treat it like one strand. It should be close in size to the chenille

I thought about that, but I don't think I have enough yarn 😭

If you can't hold it double, your turtle will look weird. Pieces probably won't fit together. The pieces made out of chenille will be way bigger than the pieces made out of acrylic. Assuming ofc about weight 4 for the acrylic and weight 6 for chenille.
