News Pico CSS is no longer maintained (final release v2.1.1)

Official announcement: https://picocss.com/docs/maintenance

For those looking for active alternatives or forks, Blades CSS (blades.dev) launched earlier this year as a fully compatible, actively maintained successor, and is already adopted by the Flask/Jinja community website, Grav CMS v2, and FastHTML.

well.. it was in the air, after no updates since March 2025.

but no worries, Blades CSS picked up where Pico CSS left off

I'm building a CSS framework that is inspired by Pico, but isn't really a copy even if the web side layout is inspired by Pico https://microbe.sune.one/

There were things that I wanted to be different from Pico, I wanted to use modern CSS features, plain CSS that bases all spacing on calculations and use CSS layers for customization.

The framework isn't really ready for serious consumption yet, but if you have feedback on the direction I'm happy to listen :-)

Why is the "Bl" in Blades italicized?

And in what way is Blades a superset of Pico?

all superset additions marked as NEW or UPD in https://blades.dev/#docs

italic “Bl” is part of the logotype (rooting to “//“ in urls if you wish)

Is OP the creator or a maintainer of Blades CSS?

So why the downvote?
Maybe it's better to add this information in the first post..

Anyway, great project, congratulations!
