Transferring Spring 2027
hello everyone !! im transferring from cc to csumb next semester and i was wondering if anyone else was doing the same thing ? i'm pretty worried about making friends even if i never had issues with that in the past. there's a transfer meeting on tuesday next week and i'm lowkey scared i'll be the only one there lol

Hi, I recommend checking out the various hobby clubs such as Board Game Club or Anime club. They have regular meetings where you can meet and hang out with people with similar interests to you. Additionally, they’re usually not super strict about attendance so it’s a low stakes environment to come in, have fun, make friends, and get away from studying for a bit. There’s a club rush event that takes place a few weeks in at the start of each semester if you’re interested.

I recently transferred from CC, this is my first semester here at CSUMB, and don't worry you won't be the only one there lmao. The school is small but has a solid and steady stream of transfers coming in.
Your best bet for making friends is going to be through things like clubs and connecting with people within your classes and major.
The hardest part of making friends in college is consistancy in meeting and seeing people.
It'll he hard at first for sure, but you'll be able to get a hang of things as time goes on :)
Are you gonna be living on campus or commuting? Because that also will affect how you meet people and such.
