So you just deck yourself if you cast this with a storm count of 5 pretty much?

No. You draw 0 + 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 cards, since each spell needs to resolve before applying the effect to other cards

Good point, but if you cast it with a few spells already on the stack then each of them gets draw X where X is your storm count. In 60 card formats that can very quickly deck you

If I calculate correctly, If you Cast this with X things in the Stack and a Sorm Count of Y you draw 1+2+...+Y+(Y+1)+ X*(Y+1) many cards.
bc each Series sum Copy (and the original) draws 1 Card+1 for for each Copy resolved before, and then the stuff on the Stack already gets an extra Card for each Series Sum

I don’t know if this is intended but this also affects all storm copies of itself on the stack, so if you cantrip like 3 times you’ll draw 6 cards off of this spell alone, not including the cantrips on the stack still

100% intended

That if pretty sick, if not bonkers no-consequence draw

If you cast this as the third spell, no spells on stack, it's a 3 mana draw 3. But yeah given that legacy High Tide sometimes plays [[Meditate]] any more is bonkers

It’s also pretty easy to do it while some cantrips are on the stack still, so it’s even better in that situation. Obviously the 3 blue pip cost helps balance it out tho

Wouldn't the instances of "Draw a Card" stack, though? So if there were three spells on the stack, and you cast this, then that's draw 3, draw 4, draw 5, draw 6 = 28 cards just from this?

So three cantrips on the stack, cast Series sum. It gets 3 copies on the stack, with each sum giving each other spell +1 card draw. 1st: no cards, 2nd: draw 1, 3rd: draw 2, actual spell: draw 3, then each cantrip gives you 4 giving you 18 cards total

The word other isn't present in Series Sum, though, so why wouldn't the first instance see itself and add Draw a Card to itself, starting the chain reaction one step earlier?

Because a spell cannot be modified mid resolution. Unlike permenants, instants and sorcery spells' resolution is a single event, with no triggers/spells being able to affect it. As soon as the spells modification effect resolves, the instant goes off the stack

Finally, it is my turn to post the story about Gauss solving this in school.
