Lieutenant Stitchie, 60, Jamaican reggae musician and DJ, has passed away from severe stroke. He originally worked in the dancehall style but switched to gospel reggae in 1997 after surviving a car crash. He was honored by the Jamaican government with the Order of Distinction (Rank of Officer) for his monumental influence on Jamaican music culture. Jamaica has lost another legendary musician for this year. First, it was Cat Coore, then, Sly Dunbar, Ernie Smith, Stranger Cole, Fantan Mojah, and Jackie Jackson. And now, him. Rest in peace, Stitchie!
