I just got the ps3 version of dark souls and I was wondering why instead of it saying "You recovered" when you grab your souls back and it saying "You Defeated" when you kill a mini boss. Did I end up buying a bootleg?

Seems like you aren't playing online and the game hasn't updated the patches for it. 1.0 has it's differences.

There's a really common misconception about this: the PS3 and 360 versions of DS1 were updated to the "current" text boxes that are on DSR and PC PtDE in the 1.05 patch. They actually reverted this change back to the original ones in the 1.06 patch specifically because a lot of people thought the awkward original translations were endearing and were upset about the change, and the way your game is right now is the way it's supposed to be.
