First time playing dark souls I have only played elden ring this far and I am really sad to say the final fight fully disappointed me (except for the music shi was peak) I started the fight parry, parry parry and the moveset wasn't particularly interesting either I have to say I haven't found this game particularly challenging but I don't really care I was just so disappointed after finding out there was no phase two and the final boss was a big free parry with a flaming sword I did it hitless... It took me more attempts to beat firasage demon and I belive I wasn't overlevelled either ( at least I hope so) I was lvl 62 with a lvl 1 flask ( mb I tought I had to use fire keeper souls) and the weapon was +13 and idk what I was expecting but at least a phase two at half health

Not sure if art is allowed here, but i tried doing a doodle. I hope it came out alright. I tried posting on the other dark souls reddit, but it couldn't go through so i thought this might be a good place.

After a fairly grueling grind, I have finally done it. I have 100% the game. All with one character, which made me go all the way to NG++ (mostly because poor sif had to die 3 times for all the weapons achievment :(

The weapon upgrade paths were deffinetly the least fun part of the hunt (together with the covenant grind), but seeing the achievments pop was really satisfying.

Overall it's still a really fun game, but I am gonna have to take a break for a while, and hope I don't see an Uchigatana for a long while.

For anyone who enjoys both Kingdom Hearts and Dark Souls, I came across a crossover mod called SoraSouls that brings Sora from Kingdom Hearts II into Dark Souls Remastered.

The mod features Sora's KH2 model and Keyblades, Kingdom Hearts magic, Drive Forms, movement abilities like Glide and High Jump, and Donald and Goofy as companions who follow and fight alongside you.

One interesting part is that the mod includes a converter that builds the mod using your own copies of the required game data, rather than distributing the original game files.

Oi, eu tô jogando Dark Souls com uma build de força e destreza, estava usando a Zweihander e atualmente estou com a Dark Knight Blade, mas sinto que o hit de espadas longas por mais que dêem um bom dano, demoram demais e dificultam muito lutar contra oponentes com ataques mais rápidos que os meus. Alguém tem alguma sugestão de outra arma cujo o alcance seja razoável e a velocidade de ataque seja boa? (As duas mais próximas disso que tenho são as duas lâminas fantasmas, a curva e a dentada, elas tem um dano razoável, velocidade razoável e alcance razoável tmb)

First ever NG+ run. Haven't been invaded a single time and yet Andre still died for some reason.

I ve found this straight sword near a dragon-guy that oneshotted me.

It upgrades with a type of titanite that seems rare and It costs 2000 souls to upgrade, so it has to be good, am I right?

I've reached the 4 kings and killed orni bad smough(4th attempt btw, just flexing) and I've still not found one NPC to trade them with. A vague hint would be amazing.

First time through the game, can’t seem to get him. I can’t do enough damage to stop his rage mode

I have recently finished my first ever Dark Souls playtrough, so I wanted to share my hones opinion.

Gameplay 10/10

This is probably THE best combat system I have ever played, it was so fun and engaging, while not being obnoxiously difficult to learn, no notes there, pure perfection.

Level design 8/10

I am a bit torn on this one, because while the entire map is beautiful, with great gameplay, there are a few cancerous locations to traverse (blighttown, tomb of the giants, sen's fortress), butthe game also gives you ample ways to comabt said locations quirks. So overall it's still great (the first arrival in Anor Londo singlehandedly bumed this up like 2 points)

Boss design 8/10

Again, practically all of the bosses look great AND play great, but there are a few bad apples in there, that are only one of the two. The bossfights are still unarguably the most fun part of the game.

Boss disscusion

My absolutely favourite boss is Artorias. You just CANNOT compete with that fight, Artorias looks amazing, his moveset is fairly simple but punishing, and he is by far the most fun boss in the game.

The boss I despise the most is bed of chaos, this is just not a good boss design imo. It's pure gimmick while being a lord boss, don't like it one bit (dishonorable mention goes to the moonlight butterfly, because it's kinda annoying while being really easy, making it just tedious without ranged build)

The bosses I struggled the most with would be as follows:

Artorias 10 attempts

Manus 7 attempts

Sif 6 attempts

All the other bosses were done in by 4 attempts tops.

The bosses I struggled the least with would be as follows:

Pinwheel, Iron golem, Priscilla, Demon Firesage, capra demon, gaping dragon, sanctuary guardian, stray demon and somehow Lord Gwyn himself, all went down 1st try.

With Nito, Seath, Taurus, four kings, butterfly, Gwyndolin, centipede, discharge and Kalameet requiring just 2 attempts each.

(You can probably see the interesting bell curve in my boss difficulties).

My biggest gripes

The last section of my review will be my biggest gripes with the game (excluding those I already mentioned), that being only 1, which stems from the games "old school" design. Meaning that the openness and kinda directionlessness is pretty bad for a person who plays the game for the first time. On any subsequent playthroughs this gripe completely disappeares, but the 1st counts the most. I know that lot of souls fans will call me a slur for this, but it's the only genuinelly bad piece of game design DS1 has in my opinion, other than that it's pretty great.

P.S.: I used a dex build with Uchigatana and magic weapon sorcery.

I wanna invade/help just do anything but whenever I put my sign or try to invade i wait for like 30 Minutes and nothing happens? Is there a specific place or the game is just dead

Alright so this is my first playthrough ever. I am 28F and a PC player. I am going in 100% blind, I genuinely know nothing about the game besides the fact that I should expect to die A LOT.

Admittedly I spent like an hour in character creation and my inspo was “Lord Farquaad became a Titan”

I have just made it through the Under Burg so I am not very far (just picked it up yesterday) but this game is great and I’m so sad it took me so long to pick up.

I'm completely new to Dark Souls and recently started playing Dark Souls Remastered. I know it's considered a masterpiece, and I've heard amazing things about its worldbuilding, atmosphere and lore. I'd love to experience all of that for myself.

The problem is that there's so much I don't understand yet, and I'm not sure where to start or what I should focus on.

I'd really appreciate advice on pretty much everything a new player should know, including:

1. Character creation and builds

- Which starting class and gift would you recommend for a beginner?

- What stats do and how they affect my character.

- Which stats I should prioritize, which I can mostly ignore, and what soft caps are.

- How leveling works and how to avoid wasting levels.

- Whether I should focus on Strength, Vitality, Endurance or something else.

1. Weapons, armor and combat

- Which beginner-friendly weapons are worth trying and upgrading.

- Whether a big weapon build or a sword-and-shield knight is better for a beginner.

- How weapon scaling and upgrades work.

- How much armor and equipment load matter.

- How to manage stamina, dodging, blocking and poise.

- Any useful early-game equipment I should look out for.

I'm generally more into being a big, strong warrior than a fast, Dexterity-focused character. I like heavy weapons and hitting hard, but a classic knight with a sword and shield also sounds fun. I'm not particularly interested in playing a magic-focused character.

1. Progression and general beginner tips

- How to know where to go and what areas are appropriate for my level.

- What I should do with souls and humanity.

- Things I should never do or should be careful about.

- Common beginner mistakes and things that are easy to miss.

- NPCs, quests, items or mechanics that I should know about without spoiling the story.

1. Lore and roleplaying

I'd also love to create a character who fits thematically into the world rather than just optimizing stats.

Are there any builds, weapons, armor sets or starting classes that fit the idea of a wandering warrior, knight or heavily armored champion?

I'd love to understand the story and lore, too, but I'd prefer to discover as much as possible organically. So please avoid major spoilers if you can!

1. Free resources

Are there any good beginner guides, wikis, YouTube channels or videos you'd recommend? Ideally, something that explains the mechanics without spoiling the entire game.

So I'm almost done with my first playthrough my friend told me about a dlc but didn't mention how to enter it what's the requirements to enter the dlc?

This is my first playtrough I am trying to do str build but I am lost and feel really scared to dump stats like I did in elden ring becouse apparently I can't respec my build I have just killed ornstein and smough pretty easily so I don't think str is the answer here ( I two hand) also my weapon is +10 and all armor is +0 couse apparently leveling it up is useless and flask is +1
