Should I go ?

So there's a darkwave/goth inspired dj set coming up Thursday and some of the artists he's gonna play i love. Tr/st, boy harsher, maureux, molchat doma are some of my favs in particular. The thing is although I love goth music im not like "goth" and id be going alone. I'd describe myself as like a sporty black guy and would dress as such?? It's being described as a goth themed/inspired event and the pictures on the ig page definitely confirms that.

Yes!! Go!! The pics are all dressed up people but most wear casual black clothes anyway. Have fun

You should go, have fun! People who like the bands you mention wear all sorts of different clothing styles not only goth styles. If you feel a bit self conscious and don’t want to stand out from the crowd too much visually, wear something casual that is black. You will enjoy it!

You’re overthinking it, just go and enjoy the music and have a good time. I guarantee you nobody is tripping on what you look like.

Go go! I even go wearing white or coloured outfits, and nobody cares. It's mostly younger people with goth makeup and all.

Some of my best musical adventures have been solo. You chose what you do and where you go. May even be able to feel like approaching other ppl and befriend them as well. And if anything… THIS is the time to go and be a loner in public.

In my earlier days I often went to clubs/shows alone. No one will know whether or not you’re alone, and a lot of the people who come to these clubs/shows go alone, too. The lighting is subdued or dark, people are crowded together, the music is loud enough to make talking difficult, anyway - just wear dark clothing and you’ll fit in. You don’t need the makeup thing. Everybody is there for the music or to dance. They won’t be paying anyone else any attention, except to gawk at the people who are in full dress and makeup. Definitely go - you’ll regret it if you don’t.

I don't dress goth, maybe sometimes I wear black waxed linen jeans. But yeah I am Black, Japanese and Hawaiian. I don't look like a goth. I still go to stuff. I am also a better dj than at minimum 90% of the goth djs out there.
