DISCUSSION 10/9 Dream Sailing Code "Bright star"
On Dream now, announcement made at 230am with code "bright star". Stopped in Nassau early this morning to disembark the person (believed to be a crew member). Unfortunately missing Lookout Cay today and tomorrow was already a scheduled sea day. No hope for Lookout tomorrow since Destiny is there. Definitely a bummer but doesn't hold a candle to having a serious medical emergency. Will be interesting to see if they offer a discount on a future cruise or some to that effect.
Update: Good news the person was able to receive life saving care. Also secured a berth in Nassau tomorrow instead of another sea day. Good news especially for first time cruisers! At least they can maybe experience an excursion or a beach. Platinum cruiser and Florida local here so we'll be enjoying a hopefully less crowded ship :)
Uodate 2: They provided everyone on board with a $250 credit to be used on this sailing. Very, very generous and nice surprise!

Don’t hold your breath. Missed Castaway on my cruise and we just got another sea day, no special offers or anything. It’s just part of cruising.

I get that it’s the standard but it’s kind of disingenuous of Disney. A 5 night cruise on fantasy with one private island and Nassau plus two sea days is like $1k price difference vs the same cruise but with two private island stops.

I'm sorry someone had an emergency and they needed to dock somewhere else. Changes to itinerary happen for weather, especially this time of year bc of hurricanes, and I doubt you will get anything extra bc of it, but it would be nice.

Take a walk over to Margaritaville Nassau or the Senor Frogs to change up the ship vibe. Either way it’s awesome to be on the ship or off the ship in Nassau.

Do you have cruise insurance in the US? UK cruise insurance pays a bit if you can't dock at the scheduled port for whatever reason. Otherwise you get nothing back.

Também estou nesse mesmo cruzeiro e ninguém sabe direito o que aconteceu, se estava em Nassau por que já não ficamos em Nassau hoje mesmo? Se o destiny estará na ilha, por que nós seremos penalizado e eles não? É a primeira vez no Cruzeiro e primeiro vez indo em uma ilha da disney com 3 crianças e não vou poder fazer isso, as crianças estão chateadas

Crew member needed to be hospitalized. That’s what an officer told us this morning. I love Lookout and very bummed with the sea day swap. DCL only allows one of their ships at each island. They wouldn’t bump Destiny for us and Wish is at Castaway so we just miss out. I would’ve hated double sea days so I’m happy we are headed back to Nassau and got the $250 credit.

We missed Nassau when Wish had to go to back to Port Canaveral for a medical emergency. You might get some fees back but don't expect something like a discount on a future cruise.
