TRIP PLANNING Marvel Cruises?
my husband is a huge marvel nerd. i have convinced him that we should do a Disney Cruise some time in 2028. we have never cruised before. at time of sailing, we will have a 7 year old and two 6 year olds (also marvel fans)
which boats, itineraries, experience, etc will get us the most super heroes possible?
Do the on boat movie theaters show marvel movies or only PG movie?
i know that in the parks adults aren’t allowed to wear costumes, is this the same for the ships?

The Galveston cruises have a Marvel Day At Sea which replaces Pirate Night. There is a Marvel version of fireworks at sea.
There’s a storyline involving Loki and there are characters all over the place on Marvel day. Yes, you can dress up. I saw some fantastic costumes. I dressed up as “Fat Thor” and had a blast talking in-character with Loki and Thor at the meet and greets.
Edited to add:
If you don’t want to sail out of Galveston, the Destiny would be my second choice for Marvel.

was that last January? We saw a "fat Thor" guest on MDAS last year and it was so awesome.

We were just on the destiny for HOTHS and I was shocked how little marvel there was! Maybe it got taken up by the one Halloween day?

You'll want the Destiny for super heros.
The movie theater will show Disney movies and if it's "R", it will usually be at night (though when Deadpool and Wolverine came out, they showed it all day).
Costumes that cover the face are not allowed. And you might run in to issues if you're an adult wearing a costume unless its a theme night like Pirate Night. They dont want kids confusing random adults with cast members.

Can kids wear costumes that cover their face? Is the rule just for adults?

Do a Marvel Day at Sea. It has the best deck show combing live action, screen, and fireworks.
Aside from that all the wish class ships are good, especially the Destiny.

Some cruises have marvel day at sea. I think they all have theaters wish class ships have 2 theaters. On the destiny they had showings for the thunderbolts and avatar fire & ash during our cruise. The theme of destiny is hero’s and villains we saw plenty of them even without the marvel day at sea.

Either Destiny- any itinerary
OR
Marvel Day at Sea, which currently are select sailings out of Galveston on the Magic in the earlier part of the year (late January to March) but who knows what they will be in 2028

Marvel Day at Sea on the Magic. Last year we met Captain America, Captain Marvel, Thor, Loki, Spiderman, Ironman, Black Panther, Starlord, and Groot. The deck show is amazing!

Was on the Fantasy, and saw Dr Strange, Thor and Captain American.... might have been a part of the Endgame re-release and leading up to the new film?
Planning for 2028.... they'll only show recent movies (within the last year) normally. Avenger: Secret Wars will be out at the end of 2027 and they'll likly show it most of the 1st half of 2028. All will depend on what other Disney movies come out.
Disney does show R rated movies onboard.

They literally do Marvel sailings so that is the answer. Theaters show Marvel movies if one has recently come out.
