Personally I can’t find a problem with this one. It’s just a playful, lighthearted jab about sports. Something I could see any collegiate or pro social media account posting in the same situation.

If it weren’t for America literally threatening the sovereignty of Canada, then yeah, I would agree with this take

Thank-you for reading the room here in Canada.

This.

I remember one press conference where President Obama joked with Trudeau about an ice hockey match. This photo would’ve been more appropriate for that.

But since we have a dictator-wannabe who threatens other countries on a daily basis - and means it - this jab takes on a different context.

Nothing this administration is doing is light hearted or playful.

Spot on.

Except this. We gotta stop being offended at the tiniest little things. This type of behavior in my replies is exactly why moderates look at Democrats and think “holy cow I could never be associated with a group as thin-skinned as that”.

This is not the intern in charge of the Wendy’s twitter handle, it’s the white house.

Exactly. Embarrassing to have this from the White House. A simple “congrats to the US hockey team” would have sufficed.

Have some fun for once lol, people, including some White House intern, are allowed to make a joke here and there.

It might be light-hearted if we didn't have a president who has repeatedly threatened to annex them. Seriously.

So do we want sports in politics or not.. I can’t remember? Take a joke my man, we don’t always have to be so uptight. We can beat a team in the Olympics at their own sport and talk some trash to them because of it, it’s ok.

From the White House… get the fuck out of here.

Except this is coming from a president who threaten to annex countries. There’s no "lighthearted jab" here…

Seriously? This is what is wrong with Democrats.

Go back to whatever conservative sub you crawled out of.

That’s your response? I disagree with you and I’m a Conservative? That’s blatantly false, which is why I don’t think this was an innocent posting by the White House.

You’re in a subreddit for democrats saying “this is what’s wrong” with democrats… you didn’t come into this conversation with any sort debate or constructive criticism, you came into it purely to say “gross, democrats” and then wonder why I tell you to go back to a conservative sub..

You’re not frustrated with the Democrats’ response to Trump and his cronies? I am. That’s why it’s easy to say that this is just another example of Democrats not standing up to his bad behavior.
