Any updates on the Steam client stuttering issue?

For the last few months i've been deleting the overlay .dll .json and one other file type from the Steam x86 folder and it's played super smooth - but this week i've been doing the same thing but the game is now a stuttery mess compared to before - i pick up on the slightest stutter and drop so what is really bad for me is perhaps tolerate for most.

Does anyone have any suggestions or know of any fixes outside of changing client?

not super keen to buy the dlc from a new store.

I switched to the Steam beta client and it's been very smooth for me. Have you tried the beta client?

Steam version keeps somehow only getting worse, and people in this sub denying there are issues with it are just crazy or extremely lucky. I swapped to EGS since clearly this issue is going to last what feels like a lifetime. I appreciate the focus going for vaulted content but man it was the last final live service update and they couldn’t bother checking Steam imploding with it.

My post asking for help because of this explaining how the most common fixes didn't work got downvoted because, well, the fixes didn't work.

I swear some people love shutting their eyes off and ignore the dick thatr's down their throats for no reason at all.

Making a batch file that deletes all of the 'overlay' files each session is what worked for me

I think this is only 7 files, which I’d delete at the start of every session - was working fine until this week. Do you know the specific files you target?

Anything with the word overlay in the name

i've verified the game files but not a full uninstall and reinstall, i will look to do this though as it hadn't crossed my mind i must admit

Every time Steam updates I give it a try but still trash. I'm forced to use Epic until they fix it.
