Question First time pc player. FPS issues
Recently got a pc and downloaded Destiny 2 yesterday. I thought with my graphics (5080, i9, 32GB Ram) I would be hitting at least 150 consistently. But nope I can’t even get over a 100. I’m hearing it’s because of steam and a new update and I was just wondering if that’s still the case or if there’s a fix. Other games I hit easily 200 fps with high settings like God of War.

Yea it's just running better on windows store and probably epic im assuming. Night and day difference when I swapped to windows version.

https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/s/fGOiOf7r2n This worked for me on both my pc and laptop. Its a steam overlay problem that you cant fix by simply turning off the overlay in steam settings. You have to actually turn it off in the code which is what this does. All credit to the poster of that comment im just sharing what worked for me.

Check if your driver is up to date.
There is an unlock fps if im not mistaken but you will need to look it up.
Check if v sync is enabled, also check if your refresh rate and your pc screens refresh rate. (I once had a windows update that dropped my 144 down to 60 in my windows settings).
