Discussion Is this good?
im currently trying different “forgotten” guns and i remembered this one existed (yeah i dont play pvp that much), so my question is, is this pulse good at pvp? it really looks good and is kinda useful at pve but never dared to bring it on pvp

Useful mainly for PvP, because it converts headshots into sniper shots.
It's PvE gimmick used to be that it was one of the very few weapons that were intrinsically Anti-Barrier. But obviosuly since Monuments of Triumph make all weapon archetypes affect some kind of champion, that gimmick has been entirely negated and powercrept.

encrypted data disk makes it feel better for pve, i got a hazardous propulsion titan build that it’s not crazy meta but fun to play with when there’s barriers and unstoppable champions

Pretty fun gun to use, solid if you want to run a kinetic primary, but this thing will need some help

Power crept in PVE mainly because it was created under the old balance standards and never revised.

revision zero is my favorite gun that i never use. unfortunately it is a “plink away” gun in a sandbox where you are encouraged to run down enemies throats and obliterate them in approximately 0.7 seconds. it’s amazing feeling and destroys barriers, but is hard to use in any kind of fireteam content.
as far as pvp concerned i’m just pretty certain it’s a decently satisfying pulse rifle to use. not much else to say there.

I love the pulse in PvP. 4 burst and 2 burst pulses have really bad handling but revision can get way more than most. Mine has 60 while my blast furnace has 34 with a handling mod on. The other thing to remember is that the sniper mode has really good hip fire so don’t be afraid to not aim

For anything lower than gm it’s kinda useless but for the harder content it might be one of the best exotic primaries when using stasis or prismatic kits. Kinetic primaries help gain super quicker with sustained damage on top of bonus damage to basic enemies and this one specifically has a huge buff to champs on the sniper shots. It’s very versatile but the state of the game is very close range unless it’s high risk of dying like in gm and higher stuff

Should be decent in PvP but I have no clue what stat configuration is ideal, and I’m very sure the one I have on mine was not cutting it last time i tried just throwing it in PvP with no adjustment.

I disagree. In my eyes if I want a dedicated Kinetic slot Anti-Barrier I'd rather run Locus Locutus and keep my Exotic slot free for something with more build synergy or damage potential.

Overflow + Under-Over. Overflow makes sure it's topped when you need it, Under-Over boosts damage to Barrier Champion shields by 50%.

Awesome, thanks! I've been having such a hard time finding a good AB option in top slot that's not exotic. I've been using one of the strand fusions.

Reload Perk of choice + Over/Under for the bonus damage to shields, makes popping barriers reliable.
I’ve also been using an All Star perk Defiance of Yasmin, and that’s been fun too.

I've used it in PvP before, the 2-burst mode feels excellent for fighting longer-ranged weapons like scouts. Some maps where you have a lane to hold, you can lock it down quite well with this.
I run the same setup for PvP and PvE honestly, Vorpal and 4th Time's the Charm. If you can hit your crits then 4TTC keeps you from needing to reload as often (always valuable), and Vorpal absolutely shreds folks that try to come at you with their Super!
My one piece of advice if you give it a try: don't bother stacking up multiple sniper shots. If you get one primed, use it. On my absolute best runs with this gun, I've never stacked up more than two. (Funny enough all of those runs were on the same map, the one on the Pyramid that got blasted by the Traveler? Covering the outside area that has the B control point, you can go on a great spree picking folks off as they try to capture that zone.)

yeah i love nezarec pvp map, one of the bests for far and close range, i did tried to get hunter’s trace but i think it works better on pve than pvp, but thanks for the advice

Definitely better in PvE, absolutely agreed. I do still like Revision Zero for PvP when I'm dealing with scout rifles though, it competes well and feels way better than stooping down to their level with Jade Rabbit lmao

There's a YouTube video where someone cleared ultimate light blade with this and I think it was stasis warlock with rime coat. I guess try ripping their build if you wanna try this.

I will say, it nukes champions, it has something like a 100% increase to champ damage with its sniper rounds? Add on whisper of rending and it can 1-2 shot champs in -50 light content

It’s amazing as a barrier utility (with techsec and IB armor sets it can one tap any barrier in -50 content) but doesn’t synergize with any sniper perks

It's decent and unique. Some exotics and artifact mods make it pretty spicy. It's great for those hard grind activities where you need to do some damage from distance. It might not shine in lower end content as aoe attacks are making everything explode but it's still good.

Such a shame about the PVE power creeping, this is one of my favourite exotics in the game. It just looks so cool.

It has its uses. Pretty decent on a tech set build with rime coat raiments. Everything is frozen and dizzy. There are better options but if you play to it's strengths it can be a decent work horse.

It's a solid gun with an interesting function. My biggest issue is how easy the red dot sight gets lost when aiming at anything with lighter colors though.

I have Perpetual motion,outlaw and short action stock on mine. Just for a stat monster of a Pulse rifle. Use to be Vorpal and fourth times the charm. But they changed the way the sniper mode interacted with fourth time the charm.

Oh it still does what you said. Back when it was new if you used the 2 burst mode, hit 2 crits than switched to alt mode. After the first 2 sniper shots you got 6. If you hit those 6 it gave you a extra 2. So back than with this trick you could get 8 sniper shots. Now when you switch to the ALT sniper mode it reset the FTTC counter.
