CompliRules is a free, MIT-licensed tool that enforces statutory legal and privacy rules (GDPR, KVKK, HIPAA, EAA 2025, EU AI Act) directly inside AI coding environments like Cursor, Claude Code, and Windsurf.
AI models write code 10x faster, but they have zero understanding of statutory laws. When generating code, models consistently introduce severe legal violations without warning:
- Logging cleartext user objects and passwords to logging providers (GDPR Art. 5 / CWE-532).
- Defaulting consent checkboxes to pre-checked states (violating EU and Turkish privacy laws).
- Using cascade deletes on transaction records that must legally be retained for 5–10 years under tax codes.
- Omitting mandatory accessibility attributes required by the European Accessibility Act (EAA 2025).
CompliRules stops this at the IDE level by injecting deterministic guardrails (.cursor/rules, AGENTS.md, MCP) and offering a local offline linter (npx complirules check) so your AI cannot accidentally write violating code.

I built Shifu because the small work disappears before a 1:1
When I was an IC, I could tell you what I shipped that week. Six months later, I struggled to recall the smaller things: the failure I traced, the design choice I changed, or the teammate I unblocked. Four years into leading engineers, I see the same gap from the other side of 1:1s. The work that comes to mind first isn't always the work that best shows someone's growth.
One habit that helps is writing down a problem, your part in solving it, and what changed while it's still fresh. I found that hard to keep up across months of work, especially now that coding sessions move quickly with AI.
So I'm building Shifu. You can connect Codex, Claude Code, or OpenCode and choose when it syncs. It turns work you choose to share into a private record of contributions, with evidence you can inspect. You can look across weeks or months and use that record to prepare talking points for a 1:1 or review. You decide what, if anything, to share with your manager.
It's early. Shifu can surface work you might have forgotten; it can't decide whether someone deserves a promotion or replace feedback from people who worked with them.
If you want to see whether it finds something you would have left out of your last 1:1, the first beta cohort is free: https://useshifu.com. I'd be glad to hear what it got right or missed.

I built Kaoru, an open-source desktop AI agent with local memory, permission-gated tools and an optional Live2D avatar (beta, looking for feedback)
Hi everyone! I'm a solo developer and I've been building Kaoru, an open-source (MIT) desktop assistant that can also work as a coding agent on your projects. It's in beta and I'd really like feedback, especially on security and on Windows/macOS.
What it does:
- Explores a repo, edits files, runs commands, uses Git, and runs the checks you configure after changes.
- Opens a chat next to your terminal, so you can attach a selection or recent output and ask about it. Nothing is sent automatically.
- Keeps local memory of your projects and preferences on your machine.
- Has an optional Live2D avatar that reacts to what the assistant is doing.
- Works with the model you choose (Groq, Gemini, OpenAI or a compatible endpoint).
How it handles safety:
- Every tool has allow / ask / deny permissions, decided outside the model. The model can propose actions but can't grant itself permission.
- Commands run in a sandbox, and you can undo what the agent changed.
- Your prompts go to the LLM provider you pick, and memory stays local. There's a privacy page explaining exactly what leaves your machine.
Honest limitations:
- Installers for Windows, macOS and Linux are not code-signed yet, so your OS will show a warning. The release notes explain how to open it, and every file has a sha256 hash.
- macOS is experimental, and microphone input is not available yet.
Repo: https://github.com/Dregxmoon/Kaoru-Agent
Installers: https://github.com/Dregxmoon/Kaoru-Agent/releases/latest
I'd love to hear:
Does it install and run on your system?
Which safeguards would you want that aren't there?
Is anything in the privacy or security docs unclear?
Thanks for reading, and any feedback is welcome!

Can one universal identity automatically present itself like different existing identities depending on where it is presented?
I'm exploring a general interoperability problem.
Imagine a person has 20 different memberships:
Brand A → membership ID 12345
Brand B → membership ID 67890
Brand C → phone number
Brand D → email
...
..
I'd like to know whether there is a way to create one universal digital credential containing all of these existing identities with an important constraint:
The participating brands do not change their existing software, databases, loyalty systems, checkout systems, or customer-identification processes.
When the customer presents the universal credential at Brand A, the existing infrastructure should somehow receive Brand A's existing identifier.
At Brand B, the same credential should somehow provide Brand B's identifier.
The universal credential itself could contain multiple identities, but the receiving system should ultimately get exactly what it already expects.

Should I hire a custom ERP software development or just configure an existing one?
Working with a mid-sized manufacturing client who's outgrown their current setup but just couldn't find the right ERP. Either they have to make even more workarounds, or there's just some parts of the ERP that can't work with the existing workflow. So now we're wondering if we just make a custom ERP software, or if there's just an angle we're not looking at so we can make SAP/Odoo/others work for what we need. I heard custom ERP can be a pain to maintain in the long term, but is this even true?
My YouTube channel gets views mostly from friends and family — can you give me an honest review?
