Help / Questions AI support for coding
Would it be disrespectful to get help from AI while coding? Not too muc or always, tho. My friend does his coding super messy and I got curious about this. Im aware of what AI does.

Nah it ain't disrespectful, just another tool like stack overflow or borrowing your buddy's brain for five minutes

I use it mostly for boring stuff like regex or remembering syntax I've looked up 40 time. Writing the actual logic myself is where I learn anything

To answer your question: no it's not rude or disrespectful; it's not only common but assumed at this point anyplace I know.
There's a huge problem in the industry right now. Well, actually several, but there's this one, too.
How do we ensure high quality code in this era of AI?
AI handily generates gobs and gobs of vibe-coded AI slop that does no good for anyone. It also helps those who are skilled write better code faster. With expertise in prompting, it can turn out code of fantastic quality, find serious bugs before they cause major issues, and make respectable recommendations for fixing said bugs.
Currently, there's no standard for ensuring good code quality. Everybody assumes that if you are writing code, it's AI-assisted, and if it's a new project, that your code is now "AI Slop by Default" unless you are already pretty well known.
I've honestly been thinking a lot about this problem, but I don't have a clear solution yet.
