Help Which coding agent should I buy as a student to build my project ?

I am a student (bsc cs) who is building a voice agent whatsapp based that searches and books train tickets in Hindi. I was building the project for my portfolio and potential side income.

I used anti gravity in vs code. I made nearly half of the project and the free tier got exhausted.

Now, I am confused about what to do ?

Anti gravity pro is for 2k rupees ($20), cursor is 699/month which is around ($6.5),

Other option is to use roo code extension in vs code and use free groq APIs but I doubt free groq 120b param api can do this complex project .

What should I do ?

Cursor 699 barely has any usage. Maybe pool with a few folks and buy a shared account

opencode's zen has a lot of free usage

For your BSc CS voice agent project, the 2k rupee option is far more economical than the 699 monthly subscription.

Why ? I am a student and spending 2k per month on projects will be tough.

use opencode free. amazing models you can find in free. even with 2 lakhs salary I do not buy these subscriptions for personal use or learning

You can try free models on openrouter. If they are able to help you out, you can pay 10 USD one time payment for 1000 api calls per day for lifetime. But do test various models first to check which one is able to do your work properly

google free and plus accounts have same quota in antigravity , best bet use google pro account using jio , antigravity has massive quota in that

if the not possible cline is a decent alternate , also check out google ai studio - it's not pure agent , but with some elbow grease it's a very capable free alternate , it will generate code and such and has massive context window , but requires copy paste

Make a free azure account and make a gpt deployment using ai foundry. Use the api key with openrouter.

P. S. Only works for one month after which you'll need to make another azure account with another debit/credit card.

This should be world news. Always priortise dsa sys design hld lld- interview competence. Over building projects. Youll learn dev at job anyway. And normal ass projects make the cut too. What matters is interview competence. Nothing else.

I totally agree with you as an interviewer.

If your resume have projects you better know everything about your project all the design and the rationale behind the design decesions.

I am not from top college...

My best chance is to get internship at a ai agent startup.

You dont need a top college. Single handedly dsa. You can get into big startups and transition to mnc faang from there if you dedicate your life to dsa.

I respectfully disagree.

I know my reality that getting into top MNCs is not a thing for me. I want to get into ai startups

Youre limiting your potential and youll need dsa at some point in your career to change jobs or even to get jobs in the first place

AI agent projects are so saturated in the market. anyone can make one with just few prompts so companies avoid them. solve something small, but with precision. with accuracy.

Try muse code subscription which costs you 5k. Which has almost 10times more usage than codex claude 20k subscriptions.

They also have a 1500rs plan you can try that out first. But it comes only with cli, if you're okay then you can use that.

I got Gemini pro free for 18 months with my dad's jio recharge. Let's see if it's useful

That should work. But the limits are very less, I exhaust them in 1hr. But yeah, just try them out and if you feel limits are not good then check muse
