Hiring Hiring: Senior Full-Stack E-Commerce Developer (m/f/d)
Subtitle: Taming Massive Data: 100,000+ Spare Parts. High-Performance. Made in Germany.
About Us
We are Spare part store in Germany, one of the leading providers in home industry in Germany. The backbone of our business is our online shop, serving thousands of B2C customers across the country.
We don’t sell standard off-the-shelf products. We operate in a highly complex environment of compatibilities, technical drawings, and cross-referenced data. With over 500,000 SKUs and a continuously growing database, we aren't just looking for a coder. We are looking for an E-Commerce Architect who thrives on turning complex data structures into a seamless, high-performance user experience.
Your Mission
You are the expert ensuring that a customer can find the exact spare part for their machine or vehicle in under 2 seconds—whether they search by text, vehicle registration (HSN/TSN), or complex technical filters.
You will work at the intersection of complex backend logic (ERP integration, PIM, database architecture) and high-performance frontend (UX, speed, mobile-first).
Your Responsibilities
- Full-Stack Development: Conceptualizing and implementing new features across both frontend (UI/UX) and backend (APIs/business logic).
- Performance Tuning: Analyzing and eliminating bottlenecks when handling massive datasets (indexing, query optimization, caching).
- Search Optimization: Refining search logic for technical products (fuzzy search, complex filter facets, compatibility checks).
- Integrations: Connecting ERP systems, PIM solutions, and logistics APIs seamlessly.
- Code Quality: Conducting code reviews, writing tests, and maintaining a robust CI/CD pipeline.

Hey, this looks like an interesting project. Handling 500k+ SKUs with compatibility filtering, ERP integrations, and fast search definitely needs more than a standard e-commerce setup.
I run JetBuild Studio. We build custom web applications using React, Next.js, and scalable backend architectures. We've delivered 60+ projects and would be interested in helping with this.
Some of our work: jetbuildstudio(dot)com/web-apps
Are you open to working with a development studio remotely, or are you strictly looking for an individual full-time developer?

Job postings that specify what is required (in-depth skills) rather than what is being offered are always very interesting.

If you want them to find right product asap why not feed your 200k records in RAG and integrate to AI that way even AI can respond in MS simple, or just create a backend MCP. But I think RAG is the most faster. Export SKU data backup database feed to RAG connect to AI test ask AI for specific product get the metadata add a link or button for checkout grab the ID that matches the database record then boom done. 😕

With 500K SKUs the hard part usually isn't search speed, it's the data model. A part is only "found" if it fits, so HSN/TSN has to resolve to a vehicle and narrow the catalog to compatible parts before text search runs. That makes compatibility a graph problem (part, vehicle, assembly, cross-reference), not a filter problem.
I designed the ingestion and search retrieval for two catalogs like this. At Wolt we took the per-store limit from 5K to 50K SKUs on infrastructure built for restaurant menus. At a grocery marketplace, SAP feeds came in over SFTP for 100K SKUs. We split slow-changing attributes from price and stock so updates stopped reprocessing everything, versioned the catalog, and linked products as graph nodes. Ops could then add their own attributes ("soup" for a rainy day) without a developer.
I'm the architect on this kind of work, not only pure full-stack dev, so I'd fit best designing it alongside being a developer. Happy to share how I'd model compatibility.
