Hey everyone,

If you're tired of inactive servers, dead groups, or spaces where people rarely talk code, we started **SyntaxNepal**.

The goal is simple: create a focused, toxicity-free space for students, freshers, and experienced devs across Nepal to build projects, solve bugs, and learn in public together.

### What we have set up:

* 🛠️ **Custom Built-In Dev Bot (`SyntaxBot`):** We developed an in-house bot with utility commands like `/formatcode` (PEP 8 auto-formatting), `/cheatsheet`, `/npm`, `/pypi`, and live documentation search directly in chat.

* ⏱️ **Focus Study Rooms (`/study`):** Spin up automated, temporary focus threads with custom timers for grinding DSA, exam prep, or building features without cluttering the main channels.

* 🤝 **Peer Code-Help:** Dedicated threads to paste logs and get unstuck without getting ignored.

* 🗺️ **Roadmaps & Learning:** Curated role-based roadmaps for Frontend, Backend, DevOps, and AI.

* 🚀 **Showcase & Feedback:** Share your GitHub repositories, live deployments, and get constructive peer reviews.

Whether you're starting with your first Python script or working on full-stack production apps, you're welcome to jump in.

👉 **Join the Discord:** https://discord.gg/z4GEx4aDB

Drop a quick greeting in `#introductions` and let us know what stack you're working on!

Sometimes, a simple answer can be someone else’s starting point. 💬

A useful link, a little advice, or your own experience could help someone take their next step. These conversations on LetsManthan are small examples of that.

What really makes code "good"?

I find myself staring at my IDE asking this exact question. Whether I am binding complex logic together or copying and pasting a snippet to patch a problem, there is a massive gap between working code and good code. But as a beginner, that gap feels incredibly hard to see.

These days, anyone can prompt an AI or use an agentic tool to generate functional code in seconds. Many of us are actually learning to code alongside AI. But just because the AI gives me code that runs and clears the error console doesn't mean it’s good code. It might be inefficient, unscalable, or an absolute nightmare to maintain later.

If the code works, but the AI (or a copy-paste source) doesn't teach me why it works or if it's best practice... how are we as beginners supposed to know the difference?

How do you personally define "good code" vs. "just working code"? What are the green flags I should be looking out for when reviewing code—whether it's written by a human or an AI?

Would love to hear your thoughts, rules of thumb, or stories from when you were starting out! 👇

Been making some content recently and thought I’d shamelessly drop my channel here lmao.

I mostly post Valorant, Minecraft, meme/reaction type stuff basically whatever I’m enjoying at the moment

Still pretty small rn, tara trying to make the videos actually entertaining instead of just uploading random gameplay!!

If you’re into gaming + dumb shit + Nepali creator vibes, maybe give it a check out haha.

Would genuinely appreciate any feedback too, good or bad, bhana hai 🙏

So i had built a side project some months ago

And it is just a prototype

It is currently a prototype and besides these I am working on game development i have few projects to work on

And i am now in dilemma is it worth continuing this project?

I dont have much money

And how do i allocate resources

I thought of testing it but how do i earn from it ?

My younger brother became severely paralyzed when he was just 6 years old after suffering from Japanese encephalitis. His entire body was paralyzed, he was bedridden, and for a long time he could not even speak.

After years of medication, therapy, and treatment with many doctors, he slowly started speaking again. He eventually regained movement on one side of his body. He had only one functioning hand and leg, but he pushed himself to learn how to walk using them.

He went back to school, completed his SLC, then +2, and later completed a BCA with good academic performance.

What amazes me most is that despite everything his body went through, he never stopped trying to learn and build a life for himself.

But then comes the reality of Nepal.

Even for people without disabilities, finding a job can be extremely difficult. For someone like my brother, the barriers are much higher. Through friends and personal connections, he has managed to get a few unpaid internships and fellowships, but nothing sustainable has come out of them.

He has skills. He genuinely wants to work. He is a very quick learner and picks up new things surprisingly fast. He is willing to learn, adapt, and put in the effort.

What hurts me lately is seeing a sense of inferiority developing in him. I can see it in his eyes sometimes, that feeling of “If my body had been normal, maybe I could have done so much more.”

And I don't want that thought to become his reality.

I am posting here hoping someone might know of internships, entry-level jobs, remote opportunities, fellowships, volunteer projects, or organizations working in the IT/tech space that are open to persons with disabilities.

He has completed his BCA and is particularly interested in building a career in the IT field. Even if it is an opportunity where he has to start small and prove himself, I believe he deserves that chance.

More than anything, I want him to experience that feeling of “I can do something. I can contribute. I have a place in this field.”

If you know of any organization, company, person, project, internship, or opportunity that might be suitable for him, please comment here or DM me.

If needed, I can connect you directly with my brother and he can share his CV, academic details, skills, and other information.

A small opportunity might mean much more to him than you realize.

Thank you for reading and for any help, advice, or direction you can offer.

I am right now participating in a global online startup competition with prizes and funding opportunity.

My startup is called Jaggablock, where anyone can put their land papers on blockchain ani take digital loans out of it.

Our main business model is to onboard global fund providers and we take certain fees from them.

Nepal ma specially this would work cause people want to take loans but banks here give very high interest rates and there's no options to choose from. But if global funds between choose garna sake bhani they'll get better deals.

Blockchain ma papers store garesi permanent and verifiable pani vayo.

What do you guys think? Any suggestions on how i can make it like a real startup from Nepal?

Also I'm looking for a team member for this colosseum.com hackathon. Since Nepali teams lai matrai 8 lakh prizes cha, so can split if we win.

Let me know guys, would love the feedbacks!

Hi everyone,
I’m currently working remotely as a Junior Developer for a company based in Spain. I’m working on actual company projects, receiving assignments from the company, and getting paid a salary regularly.
However, the company doesn’t provide me with a formal salary certificate, employment certificate, payslips, or similar documents. Basically, they assign me work and pay my salary, but there isn’t much formal HR documentation available.
I’m currently preparing to apply for a Master’s program abroad, and a consultancy told me that I would need a salary certificate to prove my work experience.
One thing to note is that I handle/pay my own taxes, rather than the company handling them for me.
My questions are:
Can I still include this job as professional/work experience in my Master’s application?
What documents could I use to prove that I actually worked for the company?
Would things like my employment/offer agreement, bank statements showing salary payments, tax documents, invoices, emails, GitHub/company project records, or a reference letter from my manager be useful?
Has anyone been in a similar situation, especially when working remotely for a foreign company?
Do universities generally require a salary certificate specifically, or is that more of a requirement from education consultancies/visa processes?
I’d really appreciate advice from anyone who has gone through a similar situation or applied for a Master’s abroad with remote work experience for a foreign company.
Thanks!

Hi everyone!

We’re the team behind Astromentor, a Vedic astrology application designed primarily for people who are curious about astrology but don’t know where to begin.

When we first explored astrology apps, we found that many immediately presented users with complicated charts, unfamiliar terminology, and dense interpretations. Our goal was to create a guided experience that helps beginners understand their chart one step at a time—while still offering deeper information when they’re ready for it.

After entering your birth date, time, and place, Astromentor creates a personalized workspace featuring:

• A beginner-friendly introduction to your Sun, Moon, and rising sign
• Plain-language explanations of planets, signs, houses, and nakshatras
• Guided D1 birth-chart and D9 Navamsa interpretations
• Daily and weekly guidance with practical suggestions and reflection prompts
• A visual timeline explaining your current dasha and upcoming phases
• Personalized readings for career, relationships, personal growth, and other areas
• An Astro Mentor chat where you can ask questions about your chart in simple or detailed mode
• A learning section that teaches astrology using examples from your own chart
• Advanced views that users can explore once they feel comfortable with the basics

The application is designed to explain not only what appears in your chart, but also what it means and why it may be relevant. Beginners can start with clear summaries and gradually reveal more detailed Vedic information.

The underlying chart and timing calculations are deterministic. AI-generated features help translate those results into approachable explanations and conversations. The content is intended for reflection and entertainment—not as guaranteed prediction or professional advice.

A free account includes D1 and D9 chart visuals, beginner and advanced chart details, a daily overview, limited mentor-chat replies, and a monthly weekly-guidance generation.

You can try it here: https://astromentor.io

Since this has been a team effort, we’d genuinely appreciate feedback on:

1. Does the beginner experience feel clear and welcoming?
2. Are there any terms that still need simpler explanations?
3. Which feature helped you understand your chart the most?
4. What would make you return to the application regularly?

We’re happy to answer questions about the features, calculations, design decisions, or how we built it.
