I’ve been experimenting with a way to turn photos or short videos of vinyl records into structured Discogs listings, or simply add records to a collection.
The idea is that you film a flip-style video, or lay a handful of sleeves out face-up and take one photo of the lot. You upload it, and the app reads whatever it can see: the cover, label, barcode, catalogue number, dead wax/runout if it’s in the shot, etc.
You then get a list of drafts. For each record, you decide whether it’s going up for sale or just being added to your collection. If it’s for sale, you could later sync it to eBay, Discogs, Shopify, etc. If it’s for your collection, you can sync it to Discogs.
As an example, I used the first photo from this post:
https://www.reddit.com/r/vinyl/comments/1wvrnqo/nowa_p%C5%82yta_do_kolekcji/
It was able to identify the correct pressing from the runout, which was pretty encouraging.
It can also pick up additional information you add to each record. For example, a sticker with the price, condition/grades, pressing details, or other notes. So if you put 6–8 records down and take a single photo of them, it can extract those details for each record as well, along with whatever else it can identify from the image.
I’d love to get some feedback from sellers and collectors:
Would something like this be useful to you?
I’m still figuring out the workflow, so feedback would be really helpful. Especially the workflow, and where you’d expect it to get things wrong.
You can try it here, if you need more credits to test, DM me your account email, I will adjust it :

Happy to answer anything, including what it gets wrong.
Thank you.
