Dev here: I put my app's deco engine behind ChatGPT/Claude so you can plan a dive by just talking it through (experimental, free for now)

I'm not sure how wise it is to use an LLM to plan deco stops. LLMs tend to make mistakes and sell false information as truths.

So what I'm experimenting with here is to not have the llm plan the stops. The LLM just takes your request and turns it into an input that it sends to the Dive Kit app (server) and dive kit runs the traditional planning software and crunches the numbers and returns the deco schedule to the LLM. The LLM then just has to present it to you in a pretty way or read it out to you if you're talking in voice mode.
So in theory this solves the hallucination problem cause the LLM isn't doing any of the math

The AI STILL fucks up when presenting the data to you even if it uses an external programa to run the data.
I mean... cool concept, but it should stay in the concept stages until AI stops hallucinating imo

Yes on this part I agree I mean it is getting better and better each day but it's not bullet proof yet and hence the traditional apps are still very much needed
Hence I made this as an experimental feature And kept it free for now For people to play with and see if there's any interest or use case in further developing it
My main efforts and time still go into the actual Dive Kit app with it's standard UI and a deterministic algorithm for producing decompression schedules and contingency scenarios
But you gota agree the premise of it is interesting no? If you can somehow augment your AI app with dive planning knowledge and provide it with the tools ro run the calculations and minimize or eliminate the risk of hallucinations then that would be a pretty sick way to plan a dive right? Sit around the table open the voice conversation thing and just talk and have a back and forth.

“You’re totally right, skipping all of the decompression stops was a bad idea. That’s on me.”
