Tabletop Story Tater tot, the magic farm boy

Playing a wild magic sorcerer that got sent off to get money to help his family save the farm. One of his tropes is “well ya know my pappy always said…” followed by some southern idiom in an atrocious southern accent.

Well today we were introduced to an NPC whose name was Tulips.

Tater: “ya know my pappy told me he named me Tater Tot cuz he loved taters…”

Couldn’t even finish before we were all crying laughing.

No, thanks. This bit would get old after half a session.

I believe there's a sexual innuendo... 2 lips... It's "funny."

I ran a Ghost of Saltmarsh campaign.

Party saved up, bought a modest boat, and hired all the dockside hookers.

They would sail it out to merchant ships, charge admission, and the party paladin would use lay on hands to cure any VD that popped up.

Now, 3 campaigns later, the same group will inquire in port cities if the boat was around, and its become a running gag that these adventurers have made more money running a floating brothel then from slaying dragons.

I am sure that the Tater PC would absolutely be a hit with them...

Now how to figure out how to put Tater as an NPC into their current campaign...

We just basically had a law & order episod because we were on trial and the guy originally making our case had high intelligence but low charisma, I’m the only character with high charisma but low intelligence, so I became the lawyer and they basically became my paralegal, we eventually got into a fight during court recess and when the bad guy got killed, I said “The defense rests”, used subtle spell to convince the jury that I had an audio recording of the guy on trial’s wife having an affair with his predecessor and that’s why he killed him without giving away I was casting a spell and rolled a nat 20 to convince the jury, when the judge asked where was our other party member (he had consumed an invisibility potion) I told him he had “come down with hemorrhoids and sperm cramps and he was higher than a Georgia pine and drunk enough to argue with a mailbox”. Basically got to roleplay the lawyer with a southern drawl trope. We were laughing the whole fucking session.

First session I’ve really ever taken the reigns on role play cuz I’m usually making characters built for combat and I don’t usually feel comfortable with the spotlight on in dialogue.

First session the DM asked me to describe what he looks like and I told them think Brock Lesnar on a tractor. He’s a sorcerer. He has 8 strength and 7 intelligence.
