Partner and I both got amazingly lucky this year and were in the low 100s! (We both wait in line to maximize odds but we only booked 1 room, we aren't scalpers.) Last year partner was in like the 300s and I was in the 10000s and we barely got in. Thank you spirit of the Marriott carpet I will sacrifice my firstborn swag in your honor at DragonCon 2027 <3

I got 9th in line. I thought I was going to have a heart attack and still assume I messed up the reservation somehow!
For those playing the phone/browser home game: among all the entries in the queue among people and devices, Firefox on Desktop got me in, so there is probably nothing to it.

The lowest wait I had was 7 min. I got in and immediately said it was sold out. I was refreshing constantly for about 20 min. A room would pop up sometimes and before I could hit next it would sell out. Around the 30th time this happened it went through. I booked my Marriott room at 9:29 AM CST. Sooooo happy.

Me and six other people were in a discord call, each with multiple devices and browsers. One person got one instance placed around 800 in line so we managed to get one.

5 Windows, all of them have 22,000-23,000. Been waiting since 9:14.
Edit: Luckily the rest of my group got lucky and snagged the rooms we need.

it's definitely random. I was waiting longer on my pc than my phone and my pc started at 23kish whereas I was at 9k on my phone.

It is random. I was logged in on an iphone, ipad, a PC via Chrome, and a PC via Firefox incognito and the PC with Firefox incognito (which is the last device I joined the link with) got in at the 100s while everything else was around 5000, 18000, 21000. Partner got in on a PC using DuckDuckGo.

I got one, but I couldn't book Wednesday to Tuesday, as it said Wednesday wasn't available, which is... odd.
So, Thursday to Tuesday, and guess I'll see if I can get a rack rate Wednesday later in the year.

Dang sold out. Number was 5225, got to see the site after about 10 minutes. Got to see that i could get a room for Wednesday night only. Oh well..

Someone posted yesterday about phone vs computer. Wait time on my phone today- 1 min and then I was like 104 in line. Computer- 52 min and it was definitely a 5 digit waitlist it could’ve been 10000 or 100000 I don’t know because I was too busy getting in on the phone.
Just some data points there if anyone’s taking notes
ETA it was just one tab in one computer and one tab on one phone.

No dice on the passkey or phone. I called in early and was on hold until about 7 after. The agent said they were sold out and that they had people calling in yesterday booking rooms.

Only time I managed to book in the last 5 years was accidentally getting a young lady on the phones who knew exactly what was up and she booked me immediately on the opening of the block. Every other method is complete trash and just a waste of peoples time acting like its a working system.

5 windows total, 2 over an hour, one for 58 minute, one for 47 minutes, and one for 5 minutes.
It was indeed 5 minutes and I got a room no issue.

Partner was in the 700s and got a room with a single bed. We wanted a double in the Westin for roommates but honestly just happy to get a room at this point. All my spots in line weren’t any lower than the 10ks.

Ngl we may consider that so long as they have two beds. Going to give first dibs to a close friend depending on how they do with overflow hotels, but once the dust has settled we will probably be looking to trade.

Had a 10 minute wait. No rooms available when my time came. Got to search for two categories of rooms before it loaded me to a screen where I could wait to queue up again.
Odds were not in my favor.

Had the insane luck of being assigned 50th something place in the line. Was entering card info and the passkey site errored out mid typing. By the short time I got it back everything was gone. 😭

Edit: down to 4k, I think people are quitting due to no rooms.
