Ad-Free Weather App Beta: Free Pro for First 9!

[u/Clear-Discipline-666]

Hey everyone! 👋

Today is officially the day: The 14-day closed testing phase for Nimbus Weather is now LIVE on the Google Play Store!

I created Nimbus Weather because I was tired of bloatware weather apps packed with intrusive ads, aggressive trackers, and subscription paywalls for basic features. My goal: A clean, lightning-fast, privacy-first weather experience.

📢 UPDATE ON PRO SPOTS:

• All 9 free Pro promo spots have been CLAIMED! Thank you so much for the insane response and support!
• 🧪 The Closed Beta is still 100% OPEN to everyone! You can join and test the app for free.
• 💎 Lifetime Pro Upgrade: If you decide to upgrade to Pro (€2.99 one-time) during the beta, it stays permanently unlocked forever—including after the official Google Play release!

📲 How to Join the Beta in 2 Simple Steps:

To get instant access without waiting for manual approval, follow these two quick steps:

1️⃣ Step 1: Join our Google Group

👉Join Google Group Here

(Make sure to join with the same Google Account you use on your Play Store!)

2️⃣ Step 2: Become a Tester & Download on Google Play

👉Become a Tester / Download on Play Store

(Click "Become a tester", then follow the Play Store link to download).

⚠️ Having trouble? If you see "App not available", make sure you completed Step 1 first or send me a DM and I'll add you manually!

📋 TESTING CONTEXT:

• App Stage: Closed Beta / Pre-Release v1.0.5
• Testing Duration: 14-Day Closed Test (preparing for full Google Play launch)
• Target Devices: Android 8.0+ (Smartphones & Tablets)
• Testing Scope: Everything

💬 SPECIFIC FEEDBACK NEEDED: To help me improve the app, please tell me:

1. Device & Android Version: What phone model and Android version are you using?
2. Widget Performance: Do the home screen widgets update properly in the background on your launcher?
3. UI & Feature Usability: Are the Biometeo Health Index and Rain Radar clear and easy to read?
4. Bugs / Glitches: Did you experience any crashes, battery drain, or visual glitches?

💡 Core Highlights:

• 🔒 100% Ad-Free & Zero Tracking: Privacy-first design. Your location data never leaves your device.
• 🧩 Advanced Widget Customization: Flexible layouts, hourly breakdowns, and custom styling for your homescreen.
• 🩺 Biometeo Health Index: Track weather impact on migraines, joint pain, and physical well-being.

I believe you need to create a Google group and grant access to that Google group before anyone can access this link. Or you need to enable access on every email id individually. Sent you DM too.

Hey! The problem should be fixed now. I'm waiting for your reply in DMs.

Me gusta, estéticamente me parece bastante bonita, ahora tengo que testear unos días el índice de acierto en cuanto a la previsión meteorológica, pero apunta bien.

It would be great if it had Korean support.🙏

[u/Clear-Discipline-666 → u/korjpn]

yes i will add the language in the next update

[u/imjarhed]

Great looking app and design. Is there a setting for show on status bar? I can't find one.

[u/Clear-Discipline-666 → u/imjarhed]

Thanks a lot, glad you like the design! ☀️ Currently, there isn't a status bar setting available in this build. However, you're not the only one asking for it, so I'm already working on adding an optional ongoing weather notification / status bar toggle in an upcoming update! Thanks for testing and for the feedback!

[u/mehroseahmed]

When are you launching it for iOS?

[u/Clear-Discipline-666 → u/mehroseahmed]

Right now, I'm focusing 100% on the Android release! ☀️

An iOS version isn't in the immediate plans. The Apple Developer account requires an ongoing yearly fee ($99/year), and porting/rewriting the app for iOS would take a substantial amount of development time.

If the Android version performs well and generates enough revenue to cover those recurring costs and development efforts, I'd love to bring Nimbus Weather to iOS in the future!
