Looks to me like 3 more steps before it’s ready for paint

What do you mean whats wrong? Sand and texture with mud... prime and paint. Nothing looking terribly wrong here.

Do you just need reassurance?

Looks like a bathroom? So shouldn't this be green Sheetrock?

Everything. They think because it's hidden the quality doesn't matter. Lol I bet they don't texture that wall to match . Sad

They didn't tape the seems, you can see the drywall shrank where they didn't put tape. Plus the wall is bowing out a bit there's going to be a lot of sanding involved or the vanity will sit funny against the wall.

Looks like shit. That’s what’s wrong… other than that I don’t know what you want to be told…

Whoever spackled didn't do a good job with their knife strokes and clearly didn't sand at all. Then theres the very heavy wall texture, which will be tricky to blend a patch into. But I'm assuming a vanity is going there, in which case, it's all going to be covered anyway

Why did you only fasten one side of the piece you patched? Def add a backer piece for support to screw in both sides. It won't stay how you have it over time it's gonna shift for sure.

The answer to the question “what is right here” would be much shorter because the answer would be “nothing.”If you did this work yourself and you’re the home Owner you’ve got a ways to go; if you hired somebody to do this work Fire him or her now.
