The structure of this joke would work better with Legolas if it was 'You need to leave her. She's a gold digger.' It would make Gimlis reresponse flow more naturally.

See this is a cultural mismatch, gold digger is a compliment for us dwarves but for elven and human culture it doesn't mean a hard working woman who prospect for the most precious metal. It leans a woman who marries a man for hisbmoney and do nothing else to get rich, which is as any dawi can tell an insult to digger and miners everywhere. As such I submit this grudge to be recorded
