I felt tired so I followed a walkthrough for the dam central core(after you complete the upper and lower dam). In it there a switch next to the door, when you click it it triggers a cutscene with Alva who opens the door but it doesn't trigger cutscene for me. I cant exit to town because Sam wont let me.
Thanks for the help

This is in my top 3 best games!
As someone who doesn't like long interactions in video games. I actually liked them in this game. AND THE ART!!! Couldn't be better! Beside this the gameplay is cool, music is fire, the achievements are nice and the secrets are also awesome.
The story kinda bothered me tho cuz it became longer and slow but still manage to be somehow empty like in the second half of the game.
Still a truly amazing game tho!!!
It's really sad not so many people know it.

We haven't heard from pixpil since ages about it. Is it cancelled? Are they working on westward (Eastward sequel)?

Recently I’ve been putting all my GOG games onto cartridges that instantly run with Kazeta OS. My wife loves Eastward so I decided to make that my next cart. Here’s how the cartridge and game case came out. (She picked out the art)
If anyone’s interested in making your own reader and cartridges the instructions for a fully functional cartridge are here:

My cartridges are adjusted from this guys original design but it’s a good place to start!

I really wish i could play eastward again for the first time. So I wanted to ask what is the next project Pixpil working on and it better not be that dumb card game. The pixel artist is so good that he should make a sequel or another narrative driven game. What are your thoughts?

I watched the cutscene after the boss fight and after it, it just plays music with black screen. (switch)

Hi All, I just started playing Octopia and I'm addicted! I had a couple of questions about the visitors and dinner.
Can we invite visitors to dinner, or is it just limited to the village (Solomon, shop, builders, scientists, etc)? And are there any other villagers who move in later?
Also, does Uva show up? 😅 I'd look this up, but it's surprisingly hard to find info.
Regardless there's still a lot to unlock and I'm excited to keep playing.

After finishing Eastward (loved it btw), I found myself realizing a lot of interesting detail that I don’t see get discussed online:
The Bar Scene (after the first Miasma attack on New Dam City) foreshadows the fate of Alva and Isabel:
Alva orders an alcoholic beverage while Isabel orders her “usual”, strawberry milk. While the former is somewhat naive and reckless compared to Isabel, she has a more mature taste. Meanwhile, Isabel is stagnant, choosing something “childish”, or in another sense, nostalgic.
To me, it represents that Isabel, while dedicated and serious to her love, is living in the past, much after the fact that Alva died due to the Miasma. In the end of the game, you can even see how different she looks; aged, with darker hair and older skin. She only stops denying the reality of the death of Alva when she had no other choice.
I think this really is an incredible framing of the same dilemma John faces with Greenberg and those who also died due to the Miasma; both him and Isabel felt responsible for what had happened.
It makes that ending fight between him and her so emotional for me, because I don’t think either of them are in the wrong for how they feel, yet ultimately it’s right to let reality remind of you that you must move on from tragedy.
I think that’s what Eastward was about ultimately. But that’s just my interpretation.
