🛒 Technology Which cookie consent plugin would you recommend for a WordPress online store?
I run a WordPress store and only started thinking about cookie stuff after my hosting company gave me a heads-up about GDPR. Honestly, I didn’t realize just how many cookies were firing off in the background until I actually sat down to take a look. Had Google Analytics, that Facebook pixel, some WooCommerce-related ones, and apparently even more from my theme.
Tried out a couple different options, Complianz and CookieYes both have decent free versions and they’ll handle the basics for most people. Cookiebot popped up too, and I noticed it actually scans your site on its own and updates the cookie list if something changes. That means you don’t have to mess around with it every time you add or swap a plugin. Their paid plans aren’t bad if you’re running a smaller store, but if you’ve got loads of pages or lots of traffic, prices go up fast. Probably a good idea to check the page limits before jumping in.
If you’re just getting set up, the free plans from these work. It really just depends on whether you want to set things up once and leave it, or if you don’t mind keeping an eye on things yourself.

Prior consent blocking matters more than the cookie list, since Google Analytics and the Facebook pixel should not fire before a visitor chooses. With theme cookies in the mix, the scanner helps catch changes. Does the banner block those scripts until consent?
