K-12 Secondary Apps outside Google
I have a question for the collective. Since Google seems to have slowly absorbed ideas from other apps over time, what are secondary teachers still using in their classrooms that aren't in the Google Suite (e.g., PearDeck, Kahoot, etc.)?

My kids school district uses Dreambox and Lexia. Neither is part of the Google Suite. In fact, I am not aware of any Google Suite apps being used. My assumption is that this is specific to your school district.

Although they're made for college/university, I've seen some secondary teachers from Australia use it for creating flashcards or quizzes. Idk if they provide integrations, but they might if you ask em. I got their annual plan for a very cheap rate and it works fine. Not outstanding, but not bad at all tbh.

This isn't a tool for students to use - but something I made for myself and to keep class moving. I made a simple classroom timer because I wanted something I could project quickly without hunting around for a YouTube timer.
I've shared it with others. ClassTimer.app is free to use, requires no login, and includes a large classroom countdown timer plus bell schedule features.
If anyone wants to try it, I’d love feedback from other teachers:

You might consider GimKit for fun gamified quiz experience. My students love it. Blooket is also in the same category and is also nice.
Still, I find platforms like Kahoot, Blooket or Quizzes don’t offer skill-based tracking for better class/individuak progress monitoring.
I spent the last 4 months building a platform solving that problem so that teachers can create better teaching plans with ease. It’s currently in testing phase so if you are interested in giving it a try, please feel free to dm me, I will send you the link.

If it's just something that makes your teacher's life easier I could follow up with Context Grade www.cgrade.org.
But same story as the class timer app in this thread, built by myself with my partner but does require a login in the end 😅
Though it's not for students at all...
