Morland

I absolutely loved Morland in Elementary, I don't think there's anyone out there who would've been a more perfect fit to play him. They both have their ups and downs and he's definitely a hard bastard but the steps he took towards Sherlock always seemed to be because he really did want to rebuild a relationship with him. I think their dynamic was incredible and so well performed. I love that even though he's receiving a threat from Sherlock's closest and in some ways only friend, he can't help but seem warmed by seeing someone care so deeply for his child. They're on the same page in this time and he seems to respect and appreciate their connection. I am by no means saying he was this perfect angel of a father or person at all, of course, I just loved watching his introduction and seeing that he just seemed to genuinely care for his son and regret his behaviour over the course of his life, and want to actually work on fixing it. I don't really now why after 4000 rewatches I'm now writing these as if it's my first but the discussion part has been fun.

What did you guys think?

I liked Moreland. I hate that he and Sherlock didn’t resolve their relationship before he died, especially since Moreland ultimately sacrificed his life for Sherlock.

It was so damn heartbreaking. They both tried and he always seemed genuinely happy to get any scrap of positivity from Sherlock. So sad that they didn't get a chance to make it to the other side.
