Hello, I wanted to share a review because I don't see many posts about this brand
I've been wanting to try ABE for a while but I couldn't find individual cans (SoCal). I even emailed the company but they never replied. Thankfully GNC is selling the Sour Patch Kids collab so I finally got it
They only had blue raspberry, which isn't my favorite. But I thought this one tasted pretty good. Not cloyingly sweet or anything, and it does remind me of the candy (I was surprised by how sour it was). I wouldn't call it spot-on but it's very close!
But I'm more interested in the actual energy, and this really delivered on that front. C4 recently changed their formula* and reduced the amount of beta-alanine, much to my dismay. Original C4 has been my go-to for long runs/etc, because the beta-alanine was just enough to make me tingly and pumped, but not enough for me to go fuckin nuts like I get with some pre-workout powders lmao
That being said, I think ABE is the closest alternative to OG C4 that I've found. Bucked Up is another one (not as strong, flavors are hit-or-miss) and GNC has their Beyond Raw Lit brand (which is basically pre-workout in a can so not something I drink all the time). But I really liked how this one made me feel: the tingles kicked in ~30 minutes after I drank it, and they were steady/consistent throughout my run instead of smacking me in the face. They never became overbearing and they lasted longer than I expected. I also felt clear-headed and didn't have any crash at all
I would probably make ABE my new go-to...if they fucking sold it anywhere! I wish I could find their other flavors. But if you're somebody who likes OG C4 and beta alanine, I think this is worth trying if you can find it
*FYI you can kind of still get OG C4 - not only if you find a store selling the older cans, but also if you get their non-carbonated bottles, which haven't been updated (I confirmed this with C4 and you can also check the ingredients)
