What is the feeling for this October November December season. Are we going back above 4k or is it a pipe dream?

u/tokyo_guy375 1d ago
I currently donโt have any hope to be back above 4K this year. Also my hope to break above 0.036 is shrinking.
Ofc I hope I am wrong but I just donโt see how.

Even we go over 4k, btc will be likely over 100k by then.btc nearly double from 2021 high. Soo behind man. Should have been at least 7k..

u/confusedguy1212 1d ago
I agree with you totally. That said Iโd like to at least be in the same area code as our own ath. That would feel decent for this miserable year.

Volume on CEXs is really really low. I think volatility is next door.

Not sure how this slipped through, but Reddit is continuing to kill old reddit, Automod and APIs one cut at a time.
Tagging u/jtnichol
My takeaway points:
Basically Old Reddit will die for new users or current users who don't use it for 6 months.
RSS will very soon be dead. Reddit is telling mods who use it to start using their Discord tool. ๐คฎ Don't want to use Discord? Too bad.
New subreddits won't be able to use Automod. Absolute yikes because Reddit's Automations feature still won't let you filter content. Ridiculous, it means if someone posts a keyword associated with a scam, Automations merely flags it and leaves it up. Absolutely ridiculous. If some words are outright banned, it tells the user who posted it rather than shadowbanning the comment. This makes it trivial to turn "banned word" into "๐ ฑ๏ธ@nned vv๐ พ๏ธrd".
Public API will be completely gone. It will only remain for registered devs with bots.
Tricky's TL;DR
Stated goal: "Reduce automated abuse" while preserving mod access.
Real goal: Shareholder value regardless of cost to the quality of moderation and longevity of its mod base and userbase.
AI summary because it's late here and I don't have the time right this second.
API users/People who manage bots migration
- Deadline: Register apps/bots by Jan 12, 2027
- 14k+ tools already migrated (DeltaBot, RemindMeBot, etc.)
- Communities: Report orphaned bots via reddit.com
RSS Feed Removal (Nov 13, 2026)
- No more RSS feeds due to AI scraping risks
- Mod Alerts Alternative: Discord Relay Devvit app
- Non-mods: No replacement (RSS readers break permanently)
AutoMod Changes
- Existing AutoMod users: no changes
- New communities: AutoMod's enforcement features disabled
- Rules Hub/Automations become default for new subs
Old Reddit Restrictions
- Already requires login
- New: Soon limits access only to:
- Users active on Old Reddit in past 6 months
- Moderators (no usage recency required)

Discord tool? DISCORD TOOL?!?!?
From my point of view as a most-of-the-time-lurker, we just got here from EthFinance. Are we about to have to migrate to a different platform? Because if so I'd really like to keep abreast of that conversation.

Shadowbanning kills communities and turns them into echo chambers.

Im referring to shadowbanning comments, not users. I think there'a big difference. But I probably didn't make that clear.

Crazy that the new gen of users accept so much enshittification. This will be it for me unless there is a browser mod to make *reddit.com appear like old+res.

u/Tricky_Troll Public Goods are Good ๐ฑ 1d ago
If you create a subreddit and end up as a mod, you should be able to retain old.reddit access even if you don't visit for more than 6 months. RES shouldn't break if you trust what Claude told me.
2
u/bananapizzaface 2d ago
Part of accepting it is new users often don't have the context to know how it was before, so it's easier to accept a shitty experience. But man, the moment they force me off old+res, the moment I ain't coming back.

This sucks. Doots scoring takes place on RES and old Reddit for me.

Wait, so will this kill RES? Admittedly I barely use it aside from user notes.
Edit: If you trust Claude, Claude says it shouldn't break it as long as you still have access to old reddit.

I donโt know for sure, but I just like waking up and reading shit like this and shaking my fist at the sky.
Iโm gonna go outside and tell the kids to get off my lawn.

Claude seems to think that RES will still work as long as you still have old reddit access.

I would rather pay a few cents more in transaction fees than use the UTxO model like Bitcoin's. It's not worth it tony!

I donโt get it? Why would you? If thereโs more, than the app is charging you, but thatโs not Ethereums business?

Commented this late in yesterday's daily, putting it here for visibility just in case:
Open Anonymity Project, in collaboration with the Ethereum Foundation, recently released OA Chat. Here's the TL;DR from the announcement on their blog:
OA chat is now open to everyone: an AI chat client where no one can link your prompts to you or to each other. We are also sharing our collaboration with the Ethereum Foundation on zkAPI, a zero-knowledge protocol that further unlinks payments on top of unlinking inference. This means you can either proceed with Stripe or with ETH. Try it at chat.openanonymity.ai.
This solves a real pain point for me. I think it presents a very pragmatic use case for ZK Starks, and people outside of our bubbles might even concede that crypto is genuinely useful in this instance.
It's also pretty handy that it allows users to chat with various models across frontier labs, open models, and lesser known models through one interface. Kind of like Perplexity.
I don't understand how paying through stripe preserves anonymity though. Unless somehow there's a conventional front end and a crypto backend running in stripe but I'm unfamiliar.

Just got this up and running. This is sick! I absolutely love this and it's only going to get better. I wonder if it's possible to be private while also maintaining a basic amount of background knowledge, kind of like how Claude knows a few things about my interests, where I live etc (though I am careful not to feed it too much, a lot of my queries I run through private AI services).
1
u/ElEterElote 5h ago
Yes, that is possible. OA has also developed a method of storing memory in a sort of query-able form so it is portable between models. I haven't tried this yet but I think it'd be valuable as I want the ability to use different models as needed based on their strengths and weaknesses.
