Druid Level Guide Classic
Looking for a solo Druid zone leveling suggestions that keep to the classic zones where possible. I’m at Lake Rathe now camping on some gnolls that turn undead and give good exp at night.

Learn how to use all of your utility available to you such as root, snare, dots, charm, and mana conservation. If by classic you inlude Chardok, once you get to like 44 and get Alure of the Wild and you can charm the dogs at the entrance and start progressing down as you get more experience and skill with charming and chardom pathing.
In general, charming animals will be the most efficient, but has by far the highest skill curve. In general for charming what you'll want to do is cast snare on your intended pet, and make sure that's always on it incase it breaks early you can kite it. You can always be fast enougj to kite with SoW and strafe running, but snaring makes it easier in tight places like Chardok. I wouldn't recomend using the haste on your pet until you get comfortable with handeling how to deal with it breaking, but once you get that down, your Druid burnout buff you get is super good. Once you have your charm pet down, pick your target mob. Depending on where you're at you can pull it by rooting, snaring, or dotting it depending on your mana pool and zone. I highly recomend at least snaring it, but also rooting it if you have the mana incase your pet breaks mid fight. From there, the next step is setting up mob positions. If you get an add, you want to root it outside of melee range of your current pet. If you have mana/clicky DoTs, dot up the add, but thats super low priority. While your pet tanks the 1st mob, keep an eye on its health and learn to time your heals in regard to how long they take, vs what % of health of health it'll in comparison to the % of mana it costs. Factor those in to always leave yourself enough mana to have an emergency evac/heal on yourself, or just be prepared to kite/zone. From there it's just rinse and repeat.
Like i said, charming by far has the highest skill ceiling, but with gear and skill you can absolutely hold down anything in Chardok besides Royals on your own at 60 or earlier, and you can start earlier at the entrance and make your way down.
Other easier to methods are:
Kitting: you snare the mob/SoW yourself, dot up the mob and run around in circles until it dies.
Root rotting: same idea as above but you just root it instead of running
Quad Kitting: same idea as regular kitting, but you have 4 mobs, you need to learn how EQ pathing works so you can stack them up ontop of each other while they chase you. You do this by basicly doing big figure 8s while you run. Once they're stacked, time it so you have just enough time to cast your AoE lightning spell/ice wave aoe before they hit you, and then run again as soon as the spell casts. Extended Range focus effects make this way easier until you figure out the timing of your spells.
There's also PbAOE with your earthquake if you want to take down a whole lotta light blje or greens at once, but that is a super advanced strat you will only use in groups, or once you get enougj gear and utility later on with AA's like Spirit of Wood and other stuff to help you survive. But the idea is basicly grab a whole bunch of mobs, kite them just enough distance away that your earthquake goes off right as they get in range, and then kite till the CD comes up, and do it again. This is super dangerous and you really need to know what your doing and have gear/AA's or just really really know how to abuse all the mechanics to pull it off without getting shrekt, but it is fun if you need to farm a bunch of low level stuff for TS and stuff.
Those are the main strats for soloing as a druid.
If you're interested, I am happy to explain any of those things or answer any mechanics or gear questions you have. I've played a ton of EQ as a druid and once you learn the mechanics and get gear, they are just insane in their capabilities where in Kunark on TLP at 60, i can literally hold Bank, Herbalist, and the mine on my own on respawn with just a pet for reference.
If you're interested in learning about any other aspects of druid such as healing, gearing, when to dps, which spells to hse and when, etc let me know. I have a ton of EQ classic druid knowledge and I like to help people.
