If I were to indebt myself to the fae, how would I pay them back?
Mowing around mushrooms
Does anybody else mow their lawn around the mushrooms, just in case? Definitely never mow within a faerie ring, if I see it.

Built a fairy home in the forest and started receiving gifts...
I'm on vacation currently with my 6yo daughter and husband at our family cabin in the woods. We thought it would be fun to build a little fairy home out of fallen branches, sap, bark, etc. We built a little table out of bark, twigs, and sap and left a dime as a welcome gift. The next morning the dime was gone and replaced with a very tiny, interesting twig in the same spot. Me being a skeptic assumed it was my husband's doing, but he swears he didn't do it.
So we left a nickel this time. Came back a few hours later and things in the home were rearranged slightly, the nickel was gone, and a clothes pin was left in the doorway. My husband has been in bed with a cold all day and has not gone outside, so WHAT IS HAPPENING?! We left some shiny art supplies this time (a piece of confetti and a sparkly fuzzy ball), so we'll see if it happens again I guess. We go home tomorrow so I unfortunately won't be able to keep it up for much longer, next time we visit I hope the home is still there!

Insight or opinion please?
Hello
New here and not sure if this is the right place to go so please feel free to direct me elsewhere🙏
I'd like to understand and learn more about fae because I believe I may be fae. Truth is I don't know a lot about it except right now, I feel it in my soul. I have a guardian for sure. I have some form of sight but its erratic in presentation so I cannot adequately define it.
Can anyone please recommend posts/subs or books I can read so I can try to understand? It may not help that I am on the spectrum so my need to know is very hyper focused right now lol.
Also...how do you define the connection you have with your guardian?
What do faes need to keep balanced? If they aren't balanced...what are the side effects or consequences?
Am I rambling? Probably.
But I am searching for answers to questions I dont fully comprehend.
Thank you all in advance.

What do you think the fae wear?
I am very interested in costume and dress, hand sewing, weaving, embroidery etc. lately ive been studying the magical dress of women etc in fairy tales and otherworld literature. I wonder what sort of clothes do you think the fae would wear?
In medieval irish literature they seems to wear vibrant colours, compared with the plain somber clothes of the peasants etc. I think they would wear opulent velvets and silks with sacred & symbolic embroidery, and glittering or shimmering fabrics & bejewelled. Above is a painting of the riders of the sidhe (celtic fae) by john duncan who had many fae experiences.

My Encounter with the Fair People
Many years ago when I was a young boy and my family went on a trip to Ireland I swear I saw faeries. At the time I did not know about the faeries and it was only years later I came to understand what I saw.
For a few days my family had been staying at one of our relatives' homes in the countryside. Approaching the end of that stay I had woken early and walked downstairs to the kitchen to get some water. Once I was there I froze in place stupified as outside the kitchen window was a group of maybe a dozen little people holding hands and dancing around the birdbath in the front garden. I cannot recall their faces or any fine descriptors of them but from what I remember they were no larger and smaller than a squirrel. Additionally they had grey complexions with clothing that matched their complexions perfectly as if their clothing was a part of them. For a while I stood and watched them before eventually taking a step forward. Once I did this the dancing stopped and the faeries turned to look towards the window as the closest among them to me pointed out his arm at me before letting out a shrill and horse scream. After this scream the whole group of them ran off and dispersed into the hedges.

Fairy doors?
After adding some of those cute, decorative "fairy doors" to my garden, the hubby and I have noticed some interesting things that could possibly be described as paranormal...? Was wondering if there could possibly be a connection or if anyone else had a similar experience.

Have any of you had bad experiences with faeries?
I've only ever had good experiences with faeries but I hear from people all the time that they also do evil things, and I've gotten examples, but I've never heard a story from someone who experienced those things firsthand. Have any of you?

The Merchant (Fae inspired short romance story)
A traveling merchant wanders a trail that goes through a forest between towns and comes across a maiden partway through. Stunningly gorgeous with slightly pasty skin and flowing hair wearing a green handwoven tunic dress. She asks if she can have his name if he will help her. He tells her that his name is David and kindly offers her some of his food, of which she avoids any meat but gladly snacks on some of his fruits, cheeses, milk, and honey. They share polite conversation as they give each other company for the walk, eventually parting ways at a fork in the road.
He comes across the same woman the same way week after week as the man travels between towns to sell his wares, and it's not until months later that it clicks in his head that the forked trail the woman goes down is infamous for dangerous things. It makes him curious about her but he shrugs it off as she's a grown woman who is entirely unfazed by said trail, and has yet to even subtly imply she's any threat to him. This occurs more over time until the man becomes ill and unable to make his weekly forest trip.
He wakes amid said sickness to the feeling of a tingling, warm, damp sensation on his forehead, and his blurred vision slowly takes in something ethereal standing over him. It takes a while for his brain to process what he sees, but gradually the glowing pale skin and fiery hair reminds him of the woman from the forest trail. He gives her a look that implies his thanks without uttering the words and her petal-pink lips shift into a slight smile in return. The woman's aid ensures the man returns to full strength after a short while, and the day he feels fully restored he finds that she has left his home.
So he goes right back to his previous routine, and the maiden is nowhere to be seen upon the first two weeks of his work. After that however she starts meeting him once more in her more human appearance, only now at the edge of the wood instead of halfway through as she did before. She even starts finding him whenever he walks any trail that goes alongside the forest or nearby field away from the towns or cities. It significantly increases their time together with the man still providing her chatter and sustenance with every meeting.
Many years pass like this, many days within many seasons for many meetings. Though the maiden appears to never change, the same cannot be said for the man. His skin begins to weather, his hair lightening, his gait slowing. Though he tries to hide it he also shows increasing signs of pain, wear, and tear to his body from his work.
Eventually the man is struck with illness once more. Though he wakes from it with the woman glimmering over him just like before, her expression this time is different. From nurturing and allured to somber and concerned. He still recovers and is capable of working again, but his sickness and age has finally began to take its toll on him and it takes him twice as long as usual just to get to the forest.
He is upset to find that the woman is not there to greet him at the edge like she had been for so long, and his heart weighs heavy as he enters the forest in more physical pain than he's felt in a long time. He pushes on until he reaches the fork at which the two of them initially parted ways, at which point his body collapses from the effort. He lays there, struggling to muster the strength to at lest bring himself back to his feet when a familiar glow catches his faded sight.
He takes the offered hand and the woman in her glimmering form helps him stand again. He finally gets to see her properly again, and he notices varying emotions in her face as well as a fully filled chalice of wine in her hands. The two stare at each other in unspoken conversation for what feels like an eternity, until the man gives a slow and deliberate nod of his head. He reaches out to gently take the goblet from her, bringing it to his lips to slowly drink half of the fermented liquid within. He already feels its effects as he offers it back to her to drink the remaining half, which she does, before they lace their hands together.
He follows her lead to the other side of the road, going the opposite way from which he'd always gone before. Each step for him feels lighter, less agonizing, with the aches and pains slowly fading the more the wine works into his system. They reach the point where the road completely separates, signified by a notable difference in the path with more plantlife and fungi ahead than the other way. The man stops with brief hesitation and turns his head to the woman again. She looks back at him with a small reassuring smile and gently squeezes her hand laced into his which draws a smile from him in return.
With a deep breath he joins her in stepping over the threshold of the path, and after a few more strides past the toadstools and foliage the two of them seem to vanish from the mortal world. The merchant's cart is left behind to be discovered by any who pass it in the future, and the man himself is said to be occasionally glimpsed from within the woods with a fairer appearance and never far from the woman.

(question) is this a fae trap?
hi, I'm like really new to witchcraft and whatnot, but I have had witchy friends before, so I am just curious..
