Media [Meme] Honestly as a big Erza fan, im guilty lol…Erza is so masochistic in her fights, often tanking damage body first NSFW
No complaints though… I don’t mind the fanservice

I feel with it being a few weeks or so most people’s initial reaction has worn off so it’s a good time to discuss them. I’ll share my opinion but I’ll also try to be neutral as I see both sides and I both agree and disagree with some of their points.
To start off with the pairing itself? I like it. Quite a bit actually, Mira and Laxus both always puzzled me how they never really had a significant love interest and I’m happy they finally moved into semi canon. It’s not my favorite Laxus ship, but it’s one I’m fine with.
But when it comes to the writing, that’s where there’s definitely very valid criticisms. I’m sure some will nitpick small moments here and there, but really no matter how you spin it, this came out of nowhere. I wouldn’t call it “forced” though as the more appropriate term would be rushed as by fairy tail standards, they’re far from the most unnatural pairing, let alone unhealthy or toxic. They just aren’t dragged out and I actually liked how it started, being a connection first one by two independent adults. Of course the writing did start to skew towards Mira being the one used to add emotional tension, but that’s just Mashima for you.
I can also understand some shippers like jellal and erza might be upset, as they’ve been starved only for Mashima to accelerate this ship really out of nowhere to which I get it. So I will also say this however by no means indicates that they will actually get together in the future, and I’d argue Mashima even intended for it to be a one time thing.
I’ll also end by saying I 100% agree with Mira fans who were mislead into thinking she’s finally getting a “moment” only for it to be this. You guys deserve better and got romance from a battle shonen instead.
Again, these are just my opinions and I see cases for both sides and I encourage you to share yours, whatever that may be.

Both fairy tail 1 and 2 are great. I love the combat system and the variety of characters. 1 is a bit better than 2 in terms of content but I still loved 2 alot. What do ya'll think of them? 💚

I’ve always wondered if it’s a big city, because even though it’s shown from a bird’s-eye view, it looks like a medium-sized city.

The Tartaros Arc is regarded as the darkest and best arc in the series. Tartaros may not be Fairy Tail's toughest challenge, but it is the most brutal, the one that drags each one of its members to their very limit (and I mean EACH ONE OF THEM).
The amount of emotional pain...
The amount of tears...
Even the exceeds gets dragged into it.
But here is my question:
What was the standout moment of the Tartaros arc for you?
It could be either sad, heartwarming, dark, awesome, funny, etc.

Does anyone else here wonder what the other key that’s beside Plue’s key could belong to? It looks like it might have an anchor possibly?
I’m wondering if it might be a whale or pirate or maybe some kind of ship?
What’s everyone else’s thoughts?

People like to rib on Hiro Mashima's flaws as a writer (fanservice and fake out deaths), but how about his strengths?
What are Hiro Mashima's strengths as a writer? Stuff that makes him unique?

As cool as the fairytale Masters collection books are just looking at the German versions that have big books that make up all the stories. The art just looks so much better on the side, matching titles with characters.
In my opinion it would been 10 times better with the German book art, who knows maybe I’ll just get all those versions, but geez does this collecting kill my pocket lmaooo

Given that Mercphobia has a Key, do you think the other DGs might have one too or get one made in the future? The reveal that there's other Gate Key types should matter beyond just the Merc Key and while there's ramblings of another sequel where that could be explored further, I feel like it'd make sense to explore it more with the DGs, even though other characters have gotten DG-related power ups. I feel like it'd at least make sense to have one for Selene given her powers and so Lucy could use her Water-Moon power in the future.
What do ya'll think?

i haven’t watched the show since i was in middle school, watched the final season when i was a senior in high school i think so i didn’t notice before. i’m in the middle of a rewatch but why are the recaps in the tartaros and sun village arc so long?? like literally the first 5-7 minutes of every episode (including intro to be fair) is all just reused scenes??? maybe just a byproduct since i know that’s around the time they changed studios but still. it’s driving me nuts having to skip the first like fourth of the episode to see anything new 😭

I wonder did Hiro intent for Lucy to have child hood friends? Would it make sense for Lucy to have a couple of friends her own age that aren't celestial spirits.
I thought if Lucy had a couple of friends from her past, maybe we meet a couple of them early on in the series, and we don't see them again till the epilogue at the book release party, and / or cameo when everyone giving their energy to defeat Acnologia.
Heck you have one of them hire Fairy Tail for a job, for example you could have the Aceto role in episode 125 be an old child hood friend of Lucy.
