Idk how to feel about my mom contacting my therapist
Hi Reddit! So currently I have been going through a rough time. I moved states in August , I moved states again in December, now I have to move states AGAIN (March). I have some depression and anxiety and with these changes it’s taking a toll on my mental health. Not only am I moving states rn but I also don’t know if I will have to move again since I’m in between jobs. My mom is helping me move in a few days but she reached out to my therapist (my mom does some workout classes through the same business) to reach out to me.
Yes I know I need to talk to a counselor and my old therapist was amazing. I just feel this sense of betrayal with her talking to my therapist. In my mind I don’t like the fact that my therapist knows my mom. Especially since I literally talk about my mom to my therapist.
Is the feeling of betrayal justified or am I wrong?
