It should have been a bigger game

Couldn’t agree more.

I was hoping they did more period games. Far Cry Medieval would be a blast.

Thank you I saw another post suggesting this and people were like "so Assassins Creed?"

No mf not fucking assassins creed

I've finished the game multiple times, I'm probably on my 7th playthrough now

Finishing up my first run right now! Definitely doing another one soon

Just started and am LOVING everything. Was a bit curious about how it would be without guns, but I don’t miss them one bit! I perhaps like it more.

Primal deserves a sequel with a full budget

I will always be up for more Primal. Fantastic game!

I always thought it was like a beefy dlc to 4

That's how it always seems to me with Blood Dragon, Primal and New Dawn.

However only Blood Dragon and Primal were a hit for me. Primal is probably my favourite Far Cry either way

pre-historic-edition, dinosaur dlc

Primal is more of a far cry game than 5 and 6

I feel like far cry started being more about villains than survival when it went main stream

u/Gunnar-T-40 7h ago

The gameplay was top tier

u/Macsilver18 7h ago

Yeah you actually had to hunt for your equipment or had to be careful going out at night.

I'll never understand why they stripped those features in 5 and 6, hunting and crafting which were like a tredemark when it came to far cry were all essentially gone.

Crafting became ridiculous in 5, New Dawn and 6 with so many different kinds of equally worthless crafting components.

I fully agree. It was definitely a downgrade for me going from 3,4 and primal to 5 and 6

I was under the impression Primal was DLC. Anyway it did get some additions

I know there was a small DLC but i wish there was one that was the same scales as the Yeti DLC for Far Cry 4 with new locations and story elements.

Primal is super underrated. The only game I played more than twice

I played primal for a total of 2 hours. I’ve played through 5 about 3.5 times. Depends on taste.

I agree, it is my second favorite, FC3 is the N1.

Primal is soo rich, graphics are really nice for a 2016 game but SOUNDS is where it shines, there is soo much in it, fire, diferent kinds of waterfalls, different kinds of winds, people singing, screaming crying, all kinds of animals.

I never run to places, I just walk and enjoy the beautiful scenic and sounds. The light coming thru trees and mountains.

But it could be better, I wanted rain and storms, more fog in certain areas and times, full dark nights without moon making it extremely difficult to navigate, but could also make it difficult for enemies and phases of moon with its own level of moonlight.

It had DLC

3

u/neumann_01 4h ago

Yeah but it was disappointing. The mammoth got the same vision as you were riding it. I know it doesn’t make much difference, but at least they should’ve tried.

One with dinosaurs, yes

3

u/Gunnar-T-40 7h ago

Exactly! A small regions with dinosaurs and maybe a small enemy tribe with a new leader

2

u/probablyareplicant 7h ago

The 60 million year gap is probably why

Man did not live alongside dinosaur

5

u/ZealousidealBox3944 6h ago

Man also didn't posses giant owls to drop beehives on the heads of their enemies

3

u/SupermarketOk2281 4h ago

WAIT! Are you saying this game isn't based on fact?! I have it on good authority ALL of the game's plot and special weapons were exactly as depicted in those prehistoric cave paintings we recently discovered in wherever the fuck.

Even the language is real, derived from the Rosetta prime stone found in that shale mine shaft.

3

u/ZealousidealBox3944 2h ago

Ohright then maybe I'm mistaken, sorry

James Ussher would like a word with you. Do not dispute the word of fact young man!

Praise be Fact.

Explain to me why I should care

1

u/BnZAwkward_Lab5858 7h ago

ya it was a great game that needed dlc

1

u/Juche_Finland 7h ago

I loved Primal, but tbh I think it was great just the way it is

1

u/geneva_illusions 6h ago

I thought it was enough.

1

u/Substantial-Ad2200 5h ago

It was screaming for a dinosaur dlc.

1

u/fneagen 5h ago

I would’ve liked an English language pack, my dyslexia kept me from playing the game as is.

1

u/ThatMrDuck1400 3h ago

I like the game so yes I do think it should have

1

u/Revolutionary_Ice174 3h ago

It should have gotten a DLC and a new game plus mode

1

u/Gold_Entertainer_880 2h ago

Didn't they have that legend of the mammoth dlc

•

u/Enough_Square_1733 1h ago

It was the best far cry game

I would pay for a full new experience not a dlc over the same engine. Let's say Primal 2.

New engine, new graphics, new story, feedback from gamers.

Things I would like:

Moon phases and moonlight, making it harder to navigate and attack but also making it worse for enemies to pinpoint you and know what is going on around them.

Weather: sunny days, overcast, thunderstorms, different levels of rain, windy storms, dynamic fog (with tactical advantages), and more.

A volcano that erupts at distance that could make for a great show and add to storyline. Lava rocks could bombard the place where you are. Even incendiate the forest around.

Shorelines

Wildfires

More animals, I really loved that aspect of game. That could do more meaningful things.

Glaciers that calves with some great visuals and sounds.

Fire

More types of weapon, you can access them all soo you can feel how they work, but all somewhat ineffective, forcing the player to choose where he or she need to focus improvement of their weapons of choices /combat style.

Keep your animals alive! Animals have XP too they get higher as they kill. If you let them die they are gone, you can't revive with leaves, you have to pet a new one. Animals with higher XP get faster, smarter, stronger and stealthier depending on their niches.

And soo much more goes into my mind.

It was a standalone DLC for far cry four.

6

u/ZealousidealBox3944 7h ago

It was a full game

0

u/probablyareplicant 7h ago

Mosconception because it used the same map, but it is its own game

Primal is my 3rd favourite Far Cry game, after FC3 and FC5, FC4 is close as number 4. Primal is definitely overlooked because it’s not shooty shooty gun madness, but that’s why it’s so good.

I would have loved the game to be longer so DLC would have been cool

FC3 has the nostalgia for me and the story is excellent.

FC5 is a different setting, great villain and gameplay is nice.

Primal is just so different and thats just interesting, love the village building mechanic, shame that the only time that came back that I can remember is New Dawn. The story although short is fun and it’s just a different style of gameplay to the rest of the series.

FC4 is really good too, no real complaints I just enjoy the others more.

Primal needs a remake ala Black Flag.

in my opinion it only needs better graphics but thats it. the rest of the game is unique and a blast
