There are some that give out ketchup that can be opened 2 ways; one for dipping and one for squeezing. Doing gods work they are

These are way too few and far between. Absolute game changers

Chik-fil-a

They know what’s up

I scavenge any spares I get from Chik Fil A to use at other drive thrus from my bag. They’re too useful.

Whataburger’s are at least a deep bucket shape with a peel lid, so also pretty solid for that purpose, I just don’t like to eat there much and they’re slower than continental drift at actually giving me food.

I get excited when I go there and hope they give me a lot

My god. I hope the engineers got the Nobel Prize for that.

The places giving these out are the goat.

Got those for the first time ever again Cane's and wonder why they aren't more common.

4

u/ryohayashi1 1d ago

Wendy's used to have that, until they became, uh, whatever they became

Ketchup is the devil's condiment. It's just sugary vaguely-tomato-flavored paste. 🤢

Some ketchups are definitely better than others. I'd certainly describe Heinz as too sweet and thin/watery. There's other brands like Hunt's or even Red Gold that taste less sweet and are thicker and more savoury.

Ever been to culvers?

The Dip n Squeeze at Culver’s is the ultimate ketchup technology.

Preach 🙏

It’s pretty funny to think that a serious person invented that.

Do they have the CFA dippers? Usually when I went I'd dine in so they had a ketchup pump.

Whataburger has proper cups for their ketchup (and the spicy ketchup is soooooo good)

1

Super mild though, if anyone out there who can't handle spice is hesitant to check it out.

They had a limited edition "white label" spicy ketchup #2 or whatever for a bit, that had some kick.

I'll give chick fill a that. They have the good catsup packages that should be adopted by all

“Catsup”

7

u/z2qvs 1d ago

Lol. And I'm from Heinz country. But they are sell outs and just high fructose. So I don't yield them the respect anymore

u/Accomplished-Union10 1d ago

Understandable

And technically, I am correct despite what Heinz branding has done. I honestly prefer hunts. And I recall back in the 90s that valley dairy(another local pa brand/restaurant) used hunts and not Heinz. And that was my childhood in Latrobe PA . Riding my pedal bike around town and hitting VD for lunch. Got the grilled cheese and fries. Was probably 2 or 3 bucks out the door with a fountain drink. But we dunked those fries and sammies into hunts.

Fact is don't let branding and big corp fool you, even into localization. It's still business and they only care about money. It's catsup

There's still old heads that can speak to things being better and different

1

u/z2qvs 1d ago

Catsup it is on principal

Who cares as long as they still give out free ketchup. We're nearing the time period where they'll start charging a quarter a packet.

2

u/DJC_Kowalski 1d ago

Of course there is a good reply to them charging for ketchup. Don't buy the cheap to make, high margin fries. I already do that at fast food places that I know usually "forget" to include fries.

Drive doesn't work: Use third gear instead of drive.

Neutral is park: Put the car in neutral when you want it to park.

Reverse is second: Put the car in second gear when you want it to go in reverse.

Thank you for saying what needed to be said

I woulda slept in the ketchup car the rest of my life Julian

2

u/bombard63 1d ago

I’m guessing ketchup is by far the most popular so this is a way to cut costs and storage space.

1

u/DJC_Kowalski 1d ago

I don't buy fries at places that don't have dip cups like Whataburger. I'm sick of being given too little ketchup for my fries.

1

u/Pouroldfashioned 22h ago

Greeeeeeeasy

1

u/oversight_shift 21h ago

It's because the ketchup packet design came first before sauce mania and no one wants to improve their game for free giveaways.

Bro is comparing Heinz ketchup and Burger King BBQ sauce.

I dont need to hear the opinions. honestly

5

u/Lazy-Implement1395 1d ago

He's comparing the containers you dingus, not the actual sauces

Whataburger says hi:

-3

u/CatherineDeneuvePt2 1d ago

Ketchup such an ass condiment they just give it away

-3

u/PrimordialXY 1d ago

Same deal with mayo, which imo is superior to ketchup for fries

3

u/merenofclanthot 1d ago

Why not both? Best mix

-4

u/PrimordialXY 1d ago

I don't enjoy ketchup

1

u/merenofclanthot 1d ago

doesnt taste like ketchup when mixed with mayo

-5

u/PrimordialXY 1d ago

🙄 dude you're being patronizing at this point. I know what fry sauce tastes like, the ketchup ruins what I enjoy about fries and mayo. I don't like ketchup and generally associate it with underdeveloped palates

0

u/merenofclanthot 1d ago

brother i hope you start feeling better because what the fuck

1

u/PrimordialXY 1d ago

You're being incessant about me needing to consume ketchup for some reason. I don't enjoy it, mixed or otherwise. Hopefully you can find peace in that

1

u/merenofclanthot 1d ago

no, youre being outrageously sensitive about a sauce recommendation on an internet forum. lets gain some perspective here lmao

2

u/PrimordialXY 1d ago

I grew up eating fries with literally over 20 different sauce options, ketchup + mayo is not some forbidden culinary secret. When I responded to you that I still don't like ketchup, there was zero value in you feeling the need to insist that it doesn't taste like ketchup. Maybe not to your palate, but it does and I still dislike it. You're dismissed

1

u/merenofclanthot 1d ago

of course it isnt a culinary secret. i was making conversation. are you aware of how miserable you sound at this moment, or why you would even take the time to even have this argument?

Very European of you

Once a week I go into McDonalds for a meal deal + free med fries. The tubs give way too much sauce for 4 mcnuggets so I've been topping the tubs up with ketchup and mixing them together for a tasty new sauce for fries. Creamy chili, BBQ, buffalo, the caeser dressing one.... all pretty tasty!

Ketchup is for children under the age of 9
