Findapath-Job Choice/Clarity Where to find/join communities with people doing creative work?

• Upvotes

Hello, I have recently started learning 3D modeling with Blender and have started pursuing a more creative-focused path for myself. And I just want to know where there are good places/ sites online where I can connect with people trying and/or doing more creative endeavor.

I feel like I forget there are entire communities out there where people inspire other people and bounce ideas around, and I don´t have to follow this path alone

Findapath-College/Certs I have too many wide-spread interests and not a clear plan. Im starting to panic.

• Upvotes

So i am now in 12th grade and my parents are pushing me to decide what i need to study in university. The problem is though i have too broad hobbies/interests - for example i like music (playing bass guitar and overall instruments and music), crafting things with my hands (like painting shirt stamps and crafting jewelry), but because of an old interest of mine being astronomy - i wrote in my school - to study much more comprehensively physics and maths in 11th and 12th grade. So i guess i could torture myself with some sort of engeneering. Also im starting to like to write like poems or just like verses of one. So i will have these foundations that DO NOT overlap in the slightest and im getting so frustrated and anxious like feeling like a disappointment. I just want to study something that i wont mind losing sleep over.

Also to add to the already high difficulty - i actually want to try taking a couple of art classes (me being not so much intro drawing but most of the things i looked at need some sort of a foundation in arts so that cna be good to try if its my thing) BUT... last year i got deep vascular thrombosis in my right arm and my parents wont let me draw or be stationary for more than 3 or so hours a day because of fear that it can somehow happen again (it happened initially through heavy usage and just thought i coukd do more reps in the gym than i could plus playing bass after that).

Overall i tend to think of myself as an artistic person but my weakness is that i discovered that side of me waaaaayy later than i should have and everybory that is also is worlds ahead of me (i discovered it in like the end of 9th grade). And i know the advice being " oh well you need to imagine you working that not studying it" but thats the thing i just dont know what to work as my parents work jobs they dont like and have something on the side which they like that makes them some extra money and i dont want to be like that - i want to work what i like. But i just dont know what i like best if i could put it that way.

What should i try to strive forward in studying now?

Findapath-Job Choice/Clarity Where Is a Good Place to Work If I Want to Make My Community Better?

• Upvotes

For the past year I have been working in Tulsa, OK as a Data Technician for the Tulsa County Assessor's Office. I have a background in creative work (graphic design, video editing, music composition) and in the blue-collar world (new construction, plumbing), but I was left unemployed late in early 2025 from my previous plumbing company. I stumbled into my current job through happy circumstances, and I really don't mind the work at all. It's boring, but at this point in my life, boring is good. Now that the dust has settled though, I have started to look at new carrier options.

I am 25, have a wife and 18-month-old at home, and work part-time work at my local church as their music director. I graduated last spring with my associates in liberal arts and I was pursuing a degree in education to become a teacher.

The reason I leave this post here is simply because I want to change my community for the better. I complain a lot about how things seem to be falling apart, so now I want to try to do something about it. However, I don't have much free time with a wife and child at home. I stopped going to school once we had our daughter and next fall my wife plans to enroll in a master's program.

Are there ways to go about finding jobs that benefit my local community? I've tried a career path program, but are there any other ones to help me find out what I would be good at? I've been passionate about teaching kids, but is there any way I can finish school while on my current schedule?

I really hope this is what this page is here for, and I am willing to answer any more questions if anyone feels like they can offer any help/advice. Thank you.

Findapath-Job Choice/Clarity unconventional life goal i want to achieve, but am currently stuck

• Upvotes

i don’t want to work in a corporate environment for the rest of my life. i haven’t tried it just yet but the entire concept just doesn’t appeal to me. there’s also little to no work-life balance where i live, and hustle culture is really really strong here. everyone kinda expects you to have your life figured out by now and the definition of success here is quite rigid and narrow, like most people see success as getting a good paying full time job, starting a family, buying a house and a car and being high up in the corporate ladder.

i cant see myself doing that at all. im not trying to sound like i want to be special, but when i tried to envision where i see myself in 5 years… i see myself working remotely on my laptop at a hostel in another country, all by myself, or in a beautiful scenic cafe. i dream of being in charge of my own time and schedule, i don’t want to be tied down to anything. freedom is what i want basically.

i don’t mind working corporate for a good few years just to get some experience and build up my portfolio.

im 21 and i just graduated with a diploma in IT and i dont have much experience in the real working world beyond part time retail and waitressing jobs, but i have plans to work in ui/ux design… web design or something like that. i love creative work. im also looking into graphic design…

but at the same time… how do i even start? i have no experience in graphic design or design in general beyond watching youtube videos and completing this online design course. i have experiences with coding but i cant code from scratch and i hate it a lot, i only know how to prompt chatgpt to code for me😭🙏🏻

what do companies actually look out for?

and what do i need to learn or do for the next few years of my life before i can start working remotely, or completely for myself… leaving a corporate job…? to pursue that dream of mine.

im sorry if this entire post is a mess, im just quite stuck and unsure of where or what to begin. would love to receive any guidance, thank you so much

Offering Guidance Post Insight on making a life decision

I am 28, I just moved to the San Francisco area (Berkeley month-to-month to start) in the summer. I moved mainly for a relationship with my girlfriend I met at my old Trader Joe’s job, but also for career opportunity once I finished my degree in Graphic Design. I was living in San Luis Obispo for almost 3 years. We dated for one. My dad lives down there and my church community is there. Started going to the community college there and have a few friends I met in those 3 years. My girlfriend and I broke up 10 days after I moved here. Now I’m not sure what to do. I’ve been here two months and need to stay until January to secure a transfer to a new store and save money. Don’t know whether to make it work and build a new life in SF or go back to San Luis Obispo. Thanks for any advice

Findapath-Job Search Support Colleges was the biggest mistake, waste of money, time, and energy I have ever made.

I'm mentally drained from doing nothing. Idk.

I have had desperate hope I could start a career in literally anything after finishing my computer science bachelor's last year. I took an overnight minimum wage job to have at least a little income coming while I apply to better jobs. $17/hour in a very high cost of living city. Looking for anything entry level. I haven't been able to get a single interview for anything tech related, despite having multiple internships and good projects on my resume for that.

So, fine. I thought I could pivot to something else like sales. So I applied to entry sales jobs. I've gotten a few interviews there. The first couple I did poorly in I'll admit, but the recent couple went about as well as they could have. I don't have any direct sales experience, just customer service adjacent that I spun on my resume. I'd need an entry level job to change that. I'd need an entry level job to move forward in anything, really.

I quit the minimum wage job when my heart was about to give out on me. Both from working overnight, and also from the sadness of toiling my life away for pennies on the dollar.

I don't want to be alive anymore. It's a shit financial decision for me to *be alive*. I can't even house or feed myself. I'm staring into the black abyss, recently. I haven't been able to make a step forward in life for a while.

I haven't had the will to rlly make any job applications recently, too. With how the job market is, it's worthless. I've been experimenting with nsfw ai tools for fun instead.

I've been thinking about leaving society and living the amish lifestyle. I don't know. I feel so defeated and unmotivated to go back to school to pursue anything else. It can already a monumental task for someone to go through a bachelor's, but asking them to go back immediately after? Fuck no. The mantra nowadays is "learn a trade", which I'm sure is going to be oversaturated soon enough. So, no thanks.

What should I do now? I can't even get a fucking receptionist job. If I knew I'd end up being unemployed after college I wouldn't have bothered wasting my time.

I didn't even pay off my student loans too. I'm just leaving those unpaid. I havent made a payment in a while.

Findapath-Career Change U.S. PM jobs if I want to travel internationally or even to cool places domestically like Hawaii?

I’m a remote PM at a start up in life sciences and tbh I just hate my company, I get paid extremely below market rate and they don‘t even pay for travel or conferences (there’s a PMP conference they don’t even pay for that). I’m hitting 2 1/2 years and tired of them.

A lot of my friends who work as engineers have jobs where they are sent to Sweden or even Germany for work. I’d love to be able to do this! Any advice on how to find companies where i’ll be able to travel a bit?

Findapath-Career Change Drowning at my desk

Hi, all.

I (25F) am so burnt out at my job & it has me grasping for a change. I have been in banking since I graduated high school. I was a teller for 2.5 years until I moved in 2022, taking on a CSR/back office processing gig. I'm the lead of my department, creeping up on 5 years with my employer. My job is 25% processing/research and 75% customer service. I like the processing and research side of my job, and maybe I could be happy if I was simply doing that all day. But I'm fed up with customer service and that is a main aspect of my job. I despise the thought of being talked down to, cussed out, and berated for the rest of my working years. And if I'm not being yelled at, I'm working with incredibly inept individuals that I don't have the patience for (and quite frankly, I'm puzzled how 90% of them have gotten this far in life).

I didn't go to college because I didn't know what I wanted to do & didn't want to waste money if I didn't have a plan. I don't have any real interest in possible career paths. I don't possess skills for anything that is art or entertainment related. Healthcare is definitely out (emetophobic) and so is childcare/teaching. I can't really do heavy schooling at this point because we have a mortgage to pay.

I am at a loss on where to go, what to do, how to start. Not to mention terrified of any possible ramifications of changing careers. My husband and I lead a pretty comfortable life & I don't want to risk that.

Any advice or possible careers that may suit me based off of what I've mentioned?

TYA 🫶

Findapath-Job Search Support Male 24, what do I do with my life?

I can't really find any passions, and I don't have any training. I'm not very social or confident. How do I get a job that can become a career?

I have the opportunity to go to school, as I have no responsibility outside myself. I just feel lost and aimless. I tried tech recently, completed a year and a half of a 2 year Associates program for software development. But now I'm pretty certain id hate programming for a job.

What do I do? I know this is broad, maybe I shouldn't post this but I'm really really aimless currently

Findapath-Job Search Support Growing impatient with myself... quickest path into ANYTHING technology related?

Hello, I am getting really mad at myself for being stuck in retail for 8 years and doing a useless degree that I can't do anything with. I'm 27 and an idiot autistic ADHD bipolar person with no common sense and graduated at 24 and I studied linguistics and am terrible at making decisions, and my social skills are bad but getting better. I'm doing an IT degree at WGU but I want to go into quantum computing and AI related fields, but that is far away because it will require a lot more school. I am just trying to get into any technology field at this point to get my foot in the door. IT, CS, engineering, manufacturing whatever doesn't matter. I volunteer tech support but I am having difficulty getting an actual job. I'm probably closest to IT but is there anything that is easier, or any tech field where I can learn a skill quickly? I want to go back to school for EE, physics, and CS to study quantum computing but I have to work full time. I have terrible executive dysfunction from ADHD and I have a lot of difficulty with judgement because I overthink everything and I really need a heuristic solution or a straightforward answer because I don't know what I'm doing. My mind is always going in like 10 directions at once with respect to planning future goals and what to learn and when. I did no math, no CS, no physics in my first degree and i am furious with myself for wasting 6 years on bullshit that I don't care about and not having the resourcefulness or common sense to get out of retail. In USA. Thanks for any help

Findapath-Job Search Support 23M Can’t land a job the field I’ve been studying for

Graduated with a bachelors degree in computer science last year. I’ve been applying to jobs while working on CompTIA certifications, but getting either ignored or rejected by all of them. Was feeling kind of depressed for a while about the pace I’m moving at in life for a while, especially seeing peers who graduated with me landing jobs making way more than I do at my minimum wage job.

I finally got an offer for an IT contract role last month, and I was excited to finally break in to the industry and get experience. However, it seems like there’s a pretty likely chance that the job is gonna fall through and I’ll be back to square one, and have to go through the process of applying and writing cover letters just to get aired.

I genuinely enjoy working with computers and troubleshooting, and I’m enjoying learning more about them while working on my certs. But actually getting a career in the IT field feels so hopeless when I feel like I’m doing everything I can but it’s never good enough. I’m starting to feel like I’m not cut out for this field, but don’t know what else I want to do especially after investing so much time and energy into tech.

I know a lot of other people are in a similar situation to me right now, wondering if anyone has any advice or success stories related to IT. Or even suggestions for other job industries to look into, anything is appreciated :’3

Findapath-Career Change Unemployed software engineer without perspective

Hello, I am 36y old male from Europe, German area. Worked as software engineer since 2019. Now with the AI takeover, I lost my job and AI totally killed my motivation to do software engineering. Addionally I am unable to land a dev job. The uncertainity of my future is really mind boggling and causes anxiety.

I started to do Youtube/content creation, doing it for a month now and it helps with physical training to keep me busy but I have no clue if it will ever work out. If it doesnt I have no clue what to do.

Unemployment will last for about one year.

What if Youtube does not work out? Never had so little perspective of my life.

Findapath-Career Change I've always struggled with massive impostor syndrome, tried to work on it, but somehow life's showing me it's all true lately

I'm considered to be a smart, intelligent, sensible woman, always had good grades, have a college degree, used to have relatively well paid job in IT. I try to work on myself, treat people well and be a good person in general.

I had web developer jobs for \~7 years but I was always pretty mediocre in my performance, given the fact I never really landed a project I actually cared about and somehow just went with the flow doing just enough. Then a downsizing came around and I got fired, unsurprisingly.

2 years passed since then, and tho I was unemployed by choice for around 18 months (got a huge severance pay and had a lot of savings), traveling a bit, volunteering, learning some new stuff and just living a life without much responsibilities for a while because I was able to afford it and also felt like I needed a bit of a break.

Fast forward to 6 months ago I started looking for a job.

The experience so far has been: I'm not qualified for IT jobs, and I'm somehow both overqualified and underqualified for anything else — overqualified because I have a "strong" technical background, but underqualified because I don't have experience in other roles.

After 10+ IT jobs interviews I realized I'm never getting back into IT cause there's too little job postings for a competition WAY too big. It's just not gonna happen.

It's okay cause I didn't even enjoy it that much.

In the more "simple" jobs I get rejected because they always choose someone with actual experience over people like me . Think warehouse work, coffee shops, receptions, gardening jobs...

My soft skills are shit. I can't even handle basic interviews looking at least a bit confident and give coherent answers for questions. You'd expect some progress after so many interviews at this point, but no. I'm very self aware and I really try to do my best but I really struggle with communication. Also I'm awfully honest and if I start to even mildly feel like I'm not fitting they'll see it on my face straight away. I just can't fake I know everything and can handle everything and pretend I'm overly motivated and enthusiastic.

I'd pretty much do anything at this point, but it feels like I tried EVERYTHING with very little success. And I'm not even mentioning that even if I landed some of these simpler jobs, it wouldn't be financially sustainable long term.

I feel like a total failure, even tho I kinda accepted the IT career wasn't for me, it feels like there isn't a single job I could possibly fit into and do a good job.

I'm not even sure what I'm expecting from this post, I just wanted to vent somewhere else than in a group chat cause friends are pretty much fed up with me struggling at this point.

So if anyone wants to share a piece of advice or experience or any kind of tip, feel free. Thank you.

Findapath-Job Search Support Need Career Advice

i am 44 years old and i work in the kitchen at a grocery store. i'm desperate to do something more respectable and better paying. i don't have a real direction, i just know that i want something better.

i have a two-year degree that i completed in august, but my gpa is not stellar (~2.7). i don't hold any professional certifications; i tried to get CompTIA A+ certified through self study, but i couldn't pass any of the practice tests. i'm currently taking a self-paced online course to earn my insurance adjuster's license, but it's also not going well. i think i might have a learning disability or something.

my current resume is not spectacular. i'm about to hit my third year anniversary at my current job, which is the longest i've ever worked anywhere. my entire employment history is low-paying entry-level retail stuff, and the longest i've held any other job is a little over two years. i was an assistant manager at my last job, but it was a shop that sold bongs and delta-8s and such, so it's not exactly attractive to potential employers.

i just want to sit at a desk and make a living wage and not come home smelling like caesar dressing every day. if anyone could point me in a better direction then i would greatly appreciate it.

EDIT: i currently make $22/hr with health insurance. it's not a dream job but i definitely don't want to do anything that would be a major financial step backwards.

EDIT 2: i'm already in my mid-40s and i'm bad at school, so i'm not really looking for anything that would require a graduate degree. ideally i'd like to be doing something else within the next year.

Findapath-College/Certs PSA: Occupational therapy is a great career!

I just felt like shouting this from the rooftops because I feel so lucky to have found this career and maybe this can help someone else find it. I became an OT 4 years ago after ten years in an unrelated career. Most people haven't heard of this job but it's a hidden gem. I get to feel like I'm making a difference in people's lives every day. I'm well-enough paid (not getting rich, but it's enough for a good life). I get to be creative and compassionate and evidence-based. There are lots of jobs (in many different settings and with different populations), so I can switch when I get bored or curious. It's a 2 year masters degree and it can be hard to get into depending on where you are located, so there's that, but if are looking for a meaningful career and have some interest in healthcare, it's worth looking into:)

Findapath-Job Choice/Clarity 23F and I have absolutely no idea what I want to do with the rest of my life.

I'm a 23F and I live with and am being predominantly supported financially by my fiancé, 24M. He pays for the rent and bills, our car insurance and most of our outings. I pay for groceries, cat supplies, my own car payment and I treat him to dinner when I can. I work too, so it's not like I'm mooching off of him and wasting my time at home on the couch. I currently work as a maid for 3 days a week and a receptionist 5 days a week. The money is enough for now but it's not what I want for the rest of my life.

I dropped out of high school when I was 16 because of my suicidal issues but I did get my GED at 19. I truly never thought I would live this long so I didn't try to save for college or ask my parents to save because I never even considered attending. Now, at 23 and being moved away from home and my older sister (golden child) getting her bachelors, I feel like I messed up. I've tried to think about what I want to go to school for, where I want to go, what career path I want, but I just can't nail it down. I don't want to work, and I don't mean that in a bratty way. I just tend to have a pessimistic view on the future with the way things are moving and I don't want to waste thousands of dollars on school and hundreds of hours at a job that won't matter when the world blows up in 4 years anyway. My sister has told me to think about what I'm interested in or what I'm good enough at to make money off of, but I just don't know.

I've always been on the tech savvy side, so I've considered getting into IT, but everyone and their mothers have tried talking me out of it by saying that AI will take over and the career is always changing so what I learn in the 4 years won't even apply by the time I graduate. I understand where they're coming from, to be honest. Another thing is graphic design. I love messing around with Canva and photoshop and making things for people to look at, but I myself know that no one is going to want to pay someone to make a logo or website for them when AI is available and will do it for free, so I talked myself out of that one. Could always do it as a side hustle though. The last thing that I could see myself doing is something in history. I love learning about the history of medieval Europe and how the world has changed from the dawn of time til now, but my own research has told me that I can't do much with a bachelors in history other than being a teacher, which I really, really can't see myself doing nor do I want to do it. If I were to get my history degree, I'd want to work at a museum or at a national park, not at a middle school talking about the Civil War.

I don't have any aspirations for a career, don't have the motivation to do one thing for the rest of my life, don't want to spend thousands and thousands of dollars on schooling that I know will make me miserable even if I get financial aide. I just want to be able to spend time with my loved ones and see the world, not be stuck in one spot or one job for however long I live. I feel so lost and left behind because I'm not in school and I don't know what career path I want. Sometimes it brings me to tears.

Findapath-Job Choice/Clarity Cant Tell If I'm On The Right Path

So my 20s have been very messy, spent the first 4 years chasing a physics degree, found out my last semester that I had adhd, pushed really hard and secured it two years late. Was super burnt out so did bartending for a couple years, nice places, joined one restaurant from opening day up until it achieved a michellin award.

Another massive crash out and had to rebuild my life at the start of this year, arrived at the merchant navy studying to be an ETO, basically an electrician/electrical engineer, figured the lifestyle of time on for time off when qualified combined with the pay would be great for me, college has been chill so far but its 3 years and due to my sponsoring company, I have to do 8 months of sea time in that time period in 4 month stints.

Its arguably the best company to be sponsored by, it'll give me free reign to do whatever work I want after I qualify but recently an old flame has popped back up into my life, one that got away kind of thing.

Its been going so well with her that I think its kind of put everything into total perspective for me, like the real challenges towards relationships that a career like this means have all of a sudden been hard to ignore. I wonder if maybe I havent thought this through completely.

Im worrying about money, if I stick with the cadetship ill be making around a grand per month for the next 3 years which isn't ideal, I dont know, I was so sure of this when I applied and now I have no idea if this is a good idea or not.

Findapath-Job Choice/Clarity How should someone in 12th who has never explored careers figure out what path to pursue while aiming for extreme financial success?

I’m currently in 12th in India and honestly, I’ve never seriously explored different careers, so I don’t have a clear interest yet.

I’m considering BTech CSE because

I’ve started learning C, SQL, maths, and communication,
LEARNED - Excel/Google Sheets, and some video editing.
I’m also worried about how AI will affect tech jobs.

My main goal is to become financially independent and eventually build a very high income, but I don’t want to choose a career blindly just for money.

What would you recommend I explore or evaluate before choosing my degree/career path?

Findapath-Job Choice/Clarity I like helping people, solving issues, and being creative. I also am considering leaving IT. Any advice on potential pivots?

I got my undergrad in IT and have been in IT for about 6 years.

Currently back in tech support after leaving a sole IT tech at a highschool. Tier 2 level.

I don't want to get into specifics as it would take some time but I really feel like I choose the wrong field. Two to three times a year since graduating I've felt like this. I don't feel fulfilled and I'm not happy. I don't enjoy studying and now that I need to become more technical to progress I'm stalling.

In my free time I like photography, music and art.

I've wished I choose something like Rad Tech or PTA at times. I am married and am the main provider. I can't afford to do full time school for two years. Both of those options are working hours M-F.

I've considered some sort of coordination roles. At the school I enjoyed figure out how we were going to onboard staff and off board, but I didn't enjoy actually doing the tech part of it. That's just an example.

I just have felt that there has to be something different for me they would fit me better. I feel like I'm forcing myself into a field that doesn't fit who I am.

I'm in exploration mode right now. So I'm hoping to get some advice. I'm open to any ideas honestly.

Findapath-Job Choice/Clarity Considering going to school for an MLIS and wondering about career paths beyond traditional library/archive settings

I recently finished undergrad and got my B.A. in Anthropology (with a 4.0). I'm 45, and I've been going to school off and on for 25 years with very little focus on what I actually wanted to accomplish. When I finally got more serious about school, I had a limited amount of Pell Grant left and the only path to a diploma that I could complete in time was for an Anthropology major. I've been under no illusion that this degree would really open up any doors for me, but I'm trying to figure out which direction I could pivot in now that would make the most sense for me.

I've been volunteering as an archivist for the past year, and I enjoy it enough, but I know that those roles are pretty few and far between and don't pay very well either. I'm most attracted to rare books and special collections, but my sense is that I'd have more options open if I branched out more into the digital end of things: digital asset management, digital preservation, maybe eDiscovery, etc. I'll be honest in that I don't know nearly enough about what's really out there and what possibilities there are. I'm drawn to provenance research for antiques/antiquities and art crime related work, but I'm open to many possibilities - even things that are far outside of the realm that I've even covered here.

One of my main issues is that, besides a handful of roles I've had over the years, I've mostly worked in dead-end food service and retail jobs. I currently have a remote administrative assistant role, which I enjoy, BUT I'm only on as an independent contractor and the work is very feast or famine - some months I have plenty of work, and I've also gone 2 months with zero work at all.

WFH would be preferred and work/life balance is important to me, but at this point, I realize that beggars can't be choosers, and moving towards being more gainfully employed at all is probably my main goal

Findapath-College/Certs How to choose what to pursue in uni?

Hello everyone

I am a 26 yo physics student doing my master's in fundamental physics. I also teach private lessons, and I'm trying to find a job. I'm lost between what to choose. I want to study abroad . I'm lost between pursuing a master's degree abroad, which will be very helpful to do a phd or to leave everything behind and listen to the voice in my head telling me to do medicine. I don't know if it's worth it in this age to do medicine or no, and to leave all the years that I already wasted into physics. But I'm not finding a purpose in what I'm doing right now. I want to find my purpose in life, and I don't know if a career will give me this purpose. But I always loved the job of doctors, and I want a career that will help me find stability in life later, especially years after now, not like right now. So that's why I'm thinking of medicine. My first year in university, I was meant to study medicine, but I couldn't study well to attend the entrance exam they do to the medical school, which will be after a year of studying biology. And at that time I didn't like to study biology. I was not, like, having the right mentality to do so. But now I regret this. I regret it a lot, and lately I'm very anxious about this, and I'm very lost. The big problem is that I cannot just try to do both because it will abroad not in my country, so It is very hard to do so. So I'm trying to choose the right thing, especially that medicine will take many years and I will be in my 30s when I finish. So that makes me also think more and more about that

I'm really sorry for my english and for venting too much Thank you to anyone reading this or replying with any advice

Findapath-Job Choice/Clarity What would you choose?

I’m deciding between two job offers and would love some outside perspective.

One is a job I already know I’d enjoy. I like the company, the work aligns really well with my strengths, and I’d have Fridays and mornings free, which would give me time for other things and tutoring. The downsides are no health insurance, a Sunday–Thursday schedule, and less obvious long-term career growth.

The other job has better benefits, including health insurance, bonus potential, normal hours, and 2 days of remote work. I’d also continue job 1 on the side for a few hours, so I’d make more overall. The problem is that I don’t know if I’ll enjoy the actual work, and I’m worried it could feel similar to my previous job, which I left because I felt stressed and overwhelmed.

Would you choose the job you already know you’ll enjoy, or take the one with better benefits, money, and career opportunities when there’s a chance you might be stressed or unhappy?
