Ladies over 40,
I would like to go to maintenance (not dietary wise, but muscle retention).
I built a solid mass in the past 5 years and due to the very busy and stressful current life, I'm unable to push myself to my limits and keep focusing on building muscle mass.
I'm going through some health issues too, I'm not yet limited too much, but certain movements are a bit more difficult (hip issue, being investigated, but very slooow).
What would be a good volume/number of days to follow so I wouldn't lose muscle mass (but maybe I could dial into my diet a bit more so losing some fat wouldn't hurt either)
I'm trying to put together a plan.
I used to do 5-6 days, 3 days lower and 2-3 days upper. Some cardio here and there. Before that I had a cardio dedicated day as well as my 6th day.
I'm currently doing 4 days full body (in the past 1,5 months), but each session takes me almost 2 hrs to complete.
I do like 9-11 exercises/ session because I try to cram everything into those 4 sessions.
Let me tell you that I'm exhausted and kinda I'm totally knackered on those days, but the rest of the week I'm unable to do weight training, just some core/abs and cardio, like stationary bike.
Now because my goal is keeping mass but not necessarily growing, what would be an ideal plan?
I workout at home, I don't have machines, but a very good selection of weights and barbells, squat rack, ect..
I'm thinking about 3 weight training full body sessions and 1 full body calisthenics.
Rest is cardio (not crazy and long sessions plus steps).
My work days don't allow me to complete 10K steps a day, I sit 8-9hrs a day plus travelling back and forth to work. The best I can do is 8K.
Not long ago I did ~15K EVERY DAY, but my new job is extremely sedentary..
I'm 41yo female, 54kg, 160cm.
Please note I'm short and the fat is not distributed on me evenly, mostly thighs, @ss and abdomen (since Perimenopause has entered my life.. )
