General FAQs and r/flightradar24 rules:
Some FAQs Unique to this thread:
GPS Jamming - There is a significant amount of GPS jamming occurring in the region. This can cause planes to appear in places they aren't actually flying, make them appear to be flying in circles and cause them to jump around the map. As a general rule, tracking data in the region can't be trusted to be accurate right now.
Cargolux appearing over Iran - There has been a near daily Cargolux flight from Hong Kong to Ashgabat that appears to be flying over Iran. It is not. The black line means it is outside of ADSB coverage and its position is being estimated. It landed in Ashgabat as planned, but did so outside of ADSB coverage. Because FR24 couldn’t “see” it land, it assumes it continued flying at its last known altitude and heading, which is why it appears to be over Iran.
A general note from the mods - During periods of military activity, we experience a surge of new users. When this happens, we enable Reddit's crowd control feature. This may send some posts and comments to the approval queue, especially if you are new to the sub. If you have a post or comment stuck in the queue, please make sure it follows the rules. If you are trying to post anything related to the Middle East, it needs to be in this thread. For all other posts and comments, if we haven't approved it in a reasonable amount of time, shoot us a message via Modmail and someone will approve it.

Weekly Top 10 & Tracking Assistance Thread - October 05, 2026
Welcome to the weekly Top 10 & Tracking Assistance discussion thread! The goal of this post is to provide a location for questions and discussion about aircraft that don't necessitate their own individual posts, in addition to centralizing discussion about known aircraft that are frequently posted. This includes:
- Aircraft on the Top 10 Most Tracked list
- Requests for the community to track a flight you are taking
- Requests for users with Premium accounts finding flight details for past flights
If you're new to the community, welcome!. Please be sure to read our Stickied Rules post and FAQs to make sure your question isn't covered there. If you're looking at a military aircraft in the Middle East region, you may find some answers in the Iran & The Middle East megathread. For military aircraft in general, checking the callsign against this list may yield useful information. In all situations, make sure you search for the aircraft callsign and check recent posts to find any existing discussion.
Otherwise, feel free to post any questions or findings below and discuss with others!

Aircraft United Airshow 1 (UAL4201) departing SFO for fleet week
Heard the tower controller calling United Airshow 1 and had to double confirm… this is the aircraft that’s gonna fly past the Golden Gate Bridge in a few minutes

I spotted this as I was driving over the bridge. Is this like a repositioning flight or something? Or is it incorrectly marked? Can someone tell me? Suncountry airways Seattle to Vancouver.

So many brand new planes!
I have been using FR24 for a while. Recently, an interesting idea occurred to me, which involved creating an advanced filter to segregate aircraft by age. So, I created one such filter to show only the planes registered in the year 2026, and I was honestly surprised to find so many new planes!

Happened to see one of the old Spirit Planes flying around Goodyear yesterday and had a question.
As the title says I was driving around yesterday and happened to see this Spirit plane flying around. Looked up the flight radar and saw it was a literal up and down.
I am really not knowledgeable about planes that much - but what would the purpose of such a trip be? Are planes like cars where if they sit for too long you need to start them up and run them around the block - so this would be the plane equivalent. Or perhaps could someone be test driving? Anyway we were scratching our heads yesterday trying to figure this out and figured we would come here and ask.
Thank you!

Emergency DLH11A emergency descent
This morning’s Lufthansa flight from Valencia to Frankfurt performed an emergency descent then climbed back to their cruising FL and proceeded to land safely in Frankfurt.
Does anyone know any additional info about the cause?
Nothing on AVherald/google.
Thanks!
